I'm getting a HD TV in about a week so I'm checking out all the different ways I can get my consoles to look better on the TV. I just noticed the Digital AV port on my Gamecube (I've had it for around 3 years now and never really noticed it before) and was wondering if this can be used with a HDMI cable. It looks like one of those cables would fit but would it actually be compatible?

I can always play me GC games on the Wii with some component cables but I was just curious.

Nope, just works with the proprietary component video cable... it's like 4 times too big for HDMI to fit. :?

I thought that it would be too big at first but then I wasn't sure. I'm not really up on the whole HDMI thing. I guess I'll just have to stick to playing GC games on the Wii.

You can purchase the component cables directly from Nintendo. The games look great over component regardless of whether or not you run the game in 480p or not. The games look better though running through the Wii in my opinion though.

Can you really still get them? When I got mine almost two years ago, I had to call Nintendo to get them...

I ordered mine a year ago. It said it was backordered, but a week after I ordered them it was delivered.
