Sonic Mega Collection has all the old 2D Sonic games and I'm sure a 4-year-old could handle that.

Isn't four years old a little young for console games? Maybe something like Mario Power Tennis... that's the only game (that I can see on my GC game shelf right now) that can be made easy to play and doesn't involve reading too much text.

Yeah... but I can't imagine a lot of the kids I know who are even 5 and 6 playing most console games and properly enjoying them.

Donkey Konga, there's no story so no words, simple gameplay, it teaches rhythm, and they get to beat on something. It's great for a little kid.

Animal Crossing might entertain a 4-year-old.  But Descent for the PC entertained me when I was 4.

i know i cant be the only guy who was 4 years old playing video games and didnt grow up to shoot everyone at school seriously

pick a game that doesnt require much thinking aka no puzzles a FPS is great and give him the control and be amazed by a 4 year olds gaming skills.

If you have a Wii then Wii sports. My four year old particularly likes bowling. As for GCN games, The Simpson's: Hit and Run, Super Mario Sunshine, Barnyard, Super Monkey Ball, Cars, and Lego Star Wars ( this one is great for the two of you to play together ).

actually it is

simply idea kill everything so little "thought" in puzzles is required and easy to pick up and play and makes sure the kid doesnt turn into some peace loving sissy like the tony blair in great britian who refused to do crap about his people getting captured for no reason by iran.

Are there any gc games a four year old could play?  badrymz

When I was three to seven the games I played the most were Wolfenstein 3D, Sonic, Mario 1, 2, and 3, Duke Nukem, Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, and MegaMan X, X-2, and X-3. So yes, there are a lot of games a four year old can play.

Yeah I can really seea 5 year old playing MoH, CoD 3, redsteel, farcry, zelda TP, and the new prince of persa... thnk b4 u type such stupid comments...

I would have, though Wii controller would probably have made it hard.

I would think they might enjoy either an easier game, or one that they can just play for a little while then stop and continue later.

what that guy said, pokemon channel.

I was gonna said bomberman but you know.."omg that kid is gonna be a terrorist!".

I also remember some games but not their exact name, I think that a game that may be good enough for a 4 is that chibi robot game or something like that.

feel free to read my reviews, since most of my GC games are for me and my 5 year old son. His favorites are Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Kart, and Lego Star Wars 1 and 2. He also likes to play Animal Crossing, Wario World, Mario Party 7, Mario Baseball, Mario Soccer, Teen Titans, Madagascar, Shrek 2, Ultimate Spiderman, and Soul Caliber 2.

I suggest you look at Wikipedia for Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom you'll find it ain't all the childish with a lot of controversial drug references. Anyway you are right though there are more attired games on the GCN than any other. Like someone said try Pokemon Channel, Simpsons Hit & Run, Ikaruga, Mario Kart Double Dash. Super Smash Bros

My 4-year old has the easiest time playing the mini games in Super Monkey Ball 2.  He does alright with Mario Kart.  I have never played them but I would guess that the Mario Party games would also be easy for a 4 year old to play.
