Ok. I never had an insane passion for console games. I'm 28 y.o. and my best games were basically 4, on different platforms.

1. Turrican 2 on C64
2. Super Mario on the old good gameboy (b & w)
3. MicroMachines on Sega Megadrive
4. MicroProse Soccer on C64

At that time i was nothing more than a lil kid, my brother in the meantime grew up and was addicted to ps2. Since then my game experience was ... when he's not at home and i have no work, no girls, no friends, no emails to answer to, NOTHING i just push the button on his ps2. Well the beginning was great with the Pro Evolution Soccer serie. Awesome. Then i started playn his games ... Crash Tag Team Racing, Tekken ... and so on. Nothing tha i can remember with a good opinion. Being myself "old",  i was startig to think  things like "ROb you cant have fun anymore with nowadays games, you're just too stupid".

But Wait... i had to change city because of work and lot of empty evenings in the week. I was goin mad when i ran into an ebgames shop and got a used cube for like 30 euros. 15 euros for mario kart double dash and... I changed my opinion. My mind was open.

Since then Resident Evil4, Time Splitters, Mario Strikers, Gladius... and a lot of funny playn with my new friends in the new city. They were like "Wtf this cube is cool, i spent thousands for my ps2, and i never had this kind of fun".

In a couple of days, lot of guys bought an used cube where i bought mine.

Funniest comment was: "other than spending cash i played for year with a console that makes more noise than the game on it :-P"

Ok boring story, crappy english. Just a final tought: in my opinion the cube had maYBE FEW GAMES, BUT these ones were just spectacular, and pure fun. And this period has a strong value for 2 reasons. 1) It's being said by me (ok joking) 2) That was the only game system  that bring me back in my child age in terms of fun.

Cheers

Rob

@GamerGirlPwnz LOL . I think that there were few games, few gameplay styles. I wont be surprised if any gamer born in middle 70s first 80s would have the same choiches. :-)
