What is the thing that you think will happen to the GC? I want to know about its future (Will it be a goner or will it still live in Nintendo) and what will happen if it actually died out of nintendo like it said on the news? I am worried about the GC's future of becoming like the N64, it stopped selling.

Well the Wii has been out for some months, and it plays I think every single GC game, so there is really no point to produce anymore GC's than they have to to get rid of their extra stock...

Yep. Gamecube's time is over. But all of the games can be played on Wii, so it doesn't really matter.

Just like everyone else is saying. The Wii can play the Gamecube games so yes the gamecube has died.

21 million Gamecubes sold and just over 5 million Wiis sold so far. This doesn't add up. Try finding a Wii over here in Europe, it's mostly sold out. I've not got a Wii yet and will continue with the cube for now.

Course it make sense. Nintendo want you to buy a Wii. So they have winded up production of the GC and software so you'll buy a Wii. Sure you'll have to wait a bit to get one, but Nintendo have already made a profit on the GC so they don't support the older system now. You'll have to get a wii for your Nintendo fix. It's the same with M$. Try buying an original xbox, you can't they want you to get a 360.

Try finding a wii over here in canada, it took me 4 months of non-stop searching. Don't think that you are the only one who has it hard.

The GC has been dead for a long time.  After RE4, other than Zelda:TP, the GC had no games coming out was worth mentioning.

Nintendo stopped caring about the GC a long time especially since they have been taking many in-development games such as Paper Mario, Kirby and porting them to the Wii leaving GC owners in the dust.

You know, some of us are not able to just go off and but a new system every time one comes out. So what you said just doesn't add up.

Actually, the gamecube is not officially dead, as stated by nintendo.

However, as far as new great games go, i think it's more then safe to assume that the gamecube won't be getting anything..

I know that others have had trouble getting a Wii, so I do understand. I just wanted to say that every Gamecube owner hasn't gone over to the Wii. Sure if more were around they would.

I hope the Gamecube doesnt stop selling, but the way things are going i think the Gamecube will be no more. i think since the Wii can play Gamecube games and you can the experience games on a different level then the Gamecube, more people might be pulled into buying a Wii instead of a Gamecube. Anyway, we shall see what the future brings for the Gamecube gamers and the Wii gamers......

I think the original post is a little silly.  Of course the NGCs are going to stop selling just like the N64 did.  Thats what happens when each new generation arrives.

As for the backwards compatability of the Wii, I couldn't care less. Short of my NGC exploding or being stolen, I will continue to enjoy it, and it will continue to be my all-time favorite Nintendo system.

I'm not about to fork out $279, or $2.79 for that matter, on that wii-diculously underpowered gimmick Nintendo is currently trying to pawn off as a system.

That's why I put the :P emoticon after my sentance, making it a joke because some people still haven't got Wii's yet whilst some lucky people like myself have.

Thats a silly question. Of course it will stop selling all game consoles have a life cycle and everyone is going to develop for the Wii instead
