The GameCube is officially dead, but doesn't every GameCube owner (or previous owner) have a Wii by now? :Pryan_returns29
21 million Gamecubes sold and just over 5 million Wiis sold so far. This doesn't add up. Try finding a Wii over here in Europe, it's mostly sold out. I've not got a Wii yet and will continue with the cube for now.

Course it make sense. Nintendo want you to buy a Wii. So they have winded up production of the GC and software so you'll buy a Wii. Sure you'll have to wait a bit to get one, but Nintendo have already made a profit on the GC so they don't support the older system now. You'll have to get a wii for your Nintendo fix. It's the same with M$. Try buying an original xbox, you can't they want you to get a 360.[QUOTE="ryan_returns29"]The GameCube is officially dead, but doesn't every GameCube owner (or previous owner) have a Wii by now? :Psumo1973

Try finding a wii over here in canada, it took me 4 months of non-stop searching. Don't think that you are the only one who has it hard. What is the thing that you think will happen to the GC? I want to know about its future (Will it be a goner or will it still live in Nintendo) and what will happen if it actually died out of nintendo like it said on the news? I am worried about the GC's future of becoming like the N64, it stopped selling.Glitchseeker

You know, some of us are not able to just go off and but a new system every time one comes out. So what you said just doesn't add up.Â

I just wanted to say that every Gamecube owner hasn't gone over to the Wii. Sure if more were around they would.
I think the original post is a little silly. Of course the NGCs are going to stop selling just like the N64 did. Thats what happens when each new generation arrives.
As for the backwards compatability of the Wii, I couldn't care less. Short of my NGC exploding or being stolen, I will continue to enjoy it, and it will continue to be my all-time favorite Nintendo system. Â
I'm not about to fork out $279, or $2.79 for that matter, on that wii-diculously underpowered gimmick Nintendo is currently trying to pawn off as a system. Â

Of course it will stop selling all game consoles have a life cycle and everyone is going to develop for the Wii instead
