Yep, that´s pretty much itÂ
GameCube is still in production and new games are in development for. GameCube is ALIVE, and that's a fact.Nintendogamer33
I demand to see links that support these games "in development". Hopefully they have nothing to do with children's movies.

Okay, here you go:

Radio Allergy and Madden NFL 08, two non-movie-based games. The other upcoming GC games, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Surf's Up, and Ratatouille, are movie-based games and are for kids. FIFA 08 will probably come to GameCube as well since the series has been released for GC since it launched and there's even a regular Xbox version in development.
As for the GC's status, yes it will die eventually but it is not dead now.

That's a pretty crappy list. I think Twilight Princess should be considered the console's swan song and if something better comes out, it'll be a nice treat but seriously, the console's old and the market has moved on.Â
For the LAST time....NO! The Gamecube is a dead console.  Just enjoy Resident Evil 4 til the Wii version comes out.ChiefFreemanyour wrong execpt about re4 part i think its not dead and i think mario party 8 is coming out for the gamecube
Radio Allergy, Surf's Up, Ratatouille, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Sufer, Mazes of Fate 2, Madden NFL 08, and FIFA 08. 7 games, not 5. Possibly more to come.

Once again it's a fact that the GameCube still has third-party support, is still in production, and is not officially dead yet.

^Well, it's possible that CON3 will get a U.S. release since Clash of Ninja: MVZ for the Wii will be a different game. Unlikely, but possible.
Oh because they still are making ps2 games.

Not sure if that was sarcasm or not, but there are still a few planned for the PS2.
Manhunt 2
Odin Sphere
Dawn of Mana
Taito Legends 2
Tomb Raider Anniversary
Art of Fighting Anthology
Raw Danger
just to name a FEW and nearly all those movie based ones listed for the Gamcube as well.
None of the current gen consoles have much new content coming out for them, but the question now is how long with the old library hold your interest. It's the time to go back and experience and try all those titles you weren't interested in when they were first released.
Is the Gamecube dead? Each person is going to answer that different depending on if they still play it or not. Dreamcast is still alive and kicking as far as I'm concerned what with all the play it gets in my home.
The truth is that the Gamecube was on it's last leg even before Twilight Princess and we can debate all we want about the current state of the console, but you're fooling yourselves if games based on children's movies are going to create any sort of interest and excitement.
Gamecube was fun, I'm not arguing that, but we need to learn to let the things we love go with some grace and humility.Â
Anybody know for a fact that Madden 2008 is coming to Gamecube? I did see the article at EA but one thing that concerns me is that if you go to the pre-order section on the EA website, the Gamecube version is not listed as an option to pre-order.....? Â
On a side note, I know I'm probably lame....but I just bought a Gamecube (Ebay $20...! And came with Mario Sunshine). Also bought Resident Evil 4 and Rouge Squadron each for $7. I know I'm about 5 years too late but just looking for something to entertain me and my 6 year old for awhile and just couldn't justify spending $600-$800 on one of the new systems. Gamecube will probably seem like a huge upgrade next to the old 8 bit NES we've been playing :)
Really want Madden 2008....but will just get 2007 for probably $10 if it isn't coming to the Gamecube. Â

The fact is, though, not just movie-based games are coming to the GC. Madden 08 and FIFA 08, two sports game, and Radio Allergy, an arcade shooter coming to the U.S. only for GC, are in development. IMO, those will be quality games that will keep me entertained for hours. I say this right now because I have fun playing Madden and FIFA every year, and I'm sure this year's versions won't be an exception. I've also played Radio Allergy for Dreamcast (Radirgy), and it's awesome. A new mode will be in the GC version, and that should keep things fresh. But even if Allergy's new mode won't be great or even good, I still enjoy the main Arcade mode and I'm sure others do and will as well.
And the GC may be on it's last leg, but that doesn't mean it's dead. As long as it still produced (and it is) and new games are in development (and there are), wheather they will be entertaining or not, the system is not officially dead.

You're not lame. The GC has plenty of great games, costs very little, it supports the Game Boy Player accessory (something the Wii doesn't support), and you have the option of LAN play in Mario Kart for up to 16 players using the GC (won't work with Wii) which is fun. And don't feel bad about playing the NES. The NES is over 25 years old, yet it's one of my favorite game systems ever and it still entertains me. BTW, great buy! Extremely low cost. :)
Anyway, yes Madden 08 is coming to GC.
Â
Does the Gameboy player work with Gameboy Advanced SP games also? I actually wasn't even aware of that but my daughter has quite a few gamebody games that would be neat to have on the TV. Might have to investigate that.
Have to agree on the price. Think it will serve me well for a couple years at an unbeatable price. And considering I haven't played any games for the system, I'll have awhile to go before I get sick of them.
Looking forward to diving into RE 4 when it arrives....

As soon as something isn't entertaining anymore, it's dead. We don't need the official word from Nintendo to know that the Gamecube was abandoned lon ago. If the only selection of games to choose from are three, well I think you're grasping at straws now. Â
