You can't compare the Metroid on DS with the Metroid on GAmecube. The GC ones are much, much, much better. They are not as linear as the DS one and there are many many more abilities to aquire.

I'm in the same boat, so I can have, not a better one, but a really good opinion about games.. I actually got my first, and only, Cube the first of this year.. so I'm new to a lot of Cube games. I only own 16 and haven't really asked any opinions on what to buy.

Anyway, first point.. don't be afraid of Metroid Prime on the Cube. I played the DS title first.. since I got a DS quite a while back, and thought it was a terrible transition from what I was used to Metroid being.. 2D. But I gave Metroid Prime and MP2 a whirl on the Cube, and I can honestly say they are some of the best FPS games out there. The controls, story, atmosphere, exploration, enemies, graphics.. they're all done amazingly well.

It's one of the few series that I can honestly say had a successful 2D to 3D transition, aside from Legend of Zelda.

At any rate, like I said.. I only own 16 games for the Cube, but I've enjoyed them all, so I'll just list what I got as recommendations:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Super Mario Sunshine
Luigi's Mansion
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Metroid Prime
MP2: Echoes
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Mario Kart Double Dash!!
Sonic Heroes
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition
Star Fox Adventures
SF Assault
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles

If I had to recommend just a half dozen titles to get you started: LoZ: Twilight Princess, Resident Evil 4, MGS: TTS, Metroid Prime, SSMB and Paper Mario: TTYD would be it.

Get Resident Evil 4, Legend of Zelda TP, Windwaker, and both Metroid Prime games. I don't know how you can be scared of that game, but if it is true, then don't bother getting Resident Evil.

Resident Evil 4, Fire Emblem, All of The Legend of Zelda games, Mario Baseball. It's your opinion though. And the MP games are a lot better than the DS one, and I also like Star Fox: Assault.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys and to answer some of the Metriod prime questions i hated it because of the ammount of back tracking and I have read that the other Metriods also have alot of back tracking. If the story really is good i might look into it because games that have good stories I usally like. I acctualy already have Resident Evil 4 on my ps2.

Metroid Prime is good though, same with the Resident Evil games.. and I've seen Metroid Prime for only like $4 at EB, so it couldn't hurt to get it..
Other than that get Zelda: Wind Waker, Zelda Twilight Princess, Mario Sunshine, Pikmin 2..

Not way better and sense you have RE4 on PS2 theres no reason to get potential the same game.

Any way

Mario Kart DD

Enternal Darkness

REmake (Not as good as 4 gameplay wise but fun)

Fire emblem

Battilion wars

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance If you like RPGs hell yeah
Metroid Prime he said he hated it

MP2: Echoes same as abouve
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door agreed
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker yes
Super Smash Bros. Melee That is a must
Mario Kart Double Dash!! Pretty much yeah
Sonic Heroes Are you kidding hell no
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition Not really
Star Fox Adventures I personal hated that game but i suppose you don't have to hate it (loved 64 and command though)
SF Assault same as abouve
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes Probably not as good as any of the PS2 game but fun
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles yes

Congrats on getting the GC! I would recommend Resident Evil 4 but if you got scared playing Metroid Prime Hunters, then I'd say you would probably wet your pants playing RE 4. But there are other great games;

SSBM, Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda WW and TP, Paper Mario, Starfox Adventures and Pikmin 1 and 2.

Why would you want to buy a Gamecube now?!?!? They're not making neither the consoles nor the games for the system anymore. Why didn't you just buy a Wii? I don't get it.

Gamecube is a hell of a lot cheaper then a Wii for staters plus it has loads of cool games.  I think its still a good system to buy and get games for.  The games are cheap and good quality and its a nice cheap system for some gaming action.

Wish people would stop saying "buy a Wii instead".
