Yes it is worth it. Great game. And you will probably only find it used, either on the internet or your used game store might have it. I had to get it from Ebay. Unfortunately it arrived all scratched and in a DVD case (which meant I got stuck at one part - if you play it, you will know what I'm talking about). But like I said, great game.
This is my personal opinion but I really though that the game was unpolished . I'm a big MGS fan (look in my pro) and a action/adventure junkie and I found the Twin Snakes the most disappointing game that has ever graced the title of remake . The graphics are great in places while in other's they're the definition of bland and what's even worse is the slow down in certain events , for example the fight with Deep Throat . Alongside the graphics the troublesome controls really hamper the game by either being too sensitive or unresponsive , there were time when I rolled into a trap when I wanted to crouch . The voice work /story sequences are fantastic but that a standard for an MGS game . If you never played the original then this game won't be a disappointment for everyone else looking for a fresher take on the classic look somewhere else.
I don't even own a GameCube anymore and I still have this game. It's in a box in my closet. Along with the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Master Quest pre order disc I got with WindWaker and Metroid Prime. Classics.

I don't agree with your on that. You could easly look past all of those problems and enjoy the game for what it is and not be disappointed. But if you nitpick at it you'll find some flaws, just like every other game out there.
How is it nit picking when it hinders the gameplay? The analog was too sensitive alongside the Y button which made the Metal Gear Battle a bit** . I'm not saying the game is bad , but I enjoyed watching the story unfold with the cinematics then actually playing the game , plus with 1st person view the game is easy due to the "vision scope" of the enemies.
