I suppose it would depend on when you played the game on the PS. Personally it would be worth it for me, seeing as I only played through the game once back when it originally came out. So 75% of the stuff in the game I wouldn't even remember.

If you're a big fan of metal gear fan than its definately worth it.  I was only a passive fan of MGS, but Twin Snakes is alot of fun.  They've drastically updated the graphics, they've added some items, and the game plays much better with the option to toggle into FPS style mode.  The characters and story is intact and just as fun as ever.

Also, Twin Snakes isn't all that expensive, so its definately worth owning the vastly superior version of the game.

If you are a fan, totally, everything has been overhauled from the graphics, sound and even some little easter eggs in there. Sure, the story is the same, but the game is a whole new experience. And if you have not played the original in awhile, its an awesome play though!

I would recommend it even if you weren't a fan.

I had never owned the original on Playstation so I can't comment on how similar it is. But I can say I thought it was an amazing game.

I'd say no.  I was so disappointed with this game.  The frame rate slows down an awful lot, thevoice acting isn't as good as the original and the cut scenes are really cheesy and over the top.  I'd pick the original MGS over this any day.

Its worth it I'd say the best way to play the game is with Bleemcast but this is a close second.

I'm like you in the sense that I have played all of the Metal Gear games except Twin Snakes. That was until I got a Wii, then I got Twin Snakes off ebay, I suggest you do the same because even thought they are almost identical story wise, my Metal Gear collection just wasn't complete without it. Do yourself a favour, get this game.

Buy this game. Now. I tried so hard to persuade this guy at college to buy this game, in the end I ended up forcing him to borrow it off me, and he went out and bought it the next day. Such a great update to an already amazing game

If you are a fan of the original Playstation, you may think that the GCN version may not have much more to offer. However, this is exactly likely to be exactly the opposite. The GCN version is excellent, great voice acting, beautiful graphics, same old excellent MGS. Worth it? Absolutely.

Everyone except for purists such as this guy like Twin Snakes better. I never came across any frame rate problems during the game and I've never heard anyone besides this guy complain. It's not a perfect version of the game but if you're going to play one, seriously the graphics from the original game are horrible. So anyway if you like MGS enough that you would want to play it again with much better graphics and the new things introduce in MGS2 like shooting in 1st person and having to hide dead/unconscious bodies, then get it.

It is fairly short, but the replay value is there to unlock the stealth suit and the Omega Bandana thing.. Plus you have two endings so its pretty cool.  And if you have MGS2 its a nice warmup for that game even though they are on different systems..  Still gets you warmed up hehe

Yes, it's worth it. Some of the voice acting has changed a bit and the graphics are not as sharp as MGS2 but I think there's enough even for people who played the original to get their teeth into.
