I think I like 2 better. The first one was great but there are a few minor things I didn't like, such as the cliche fire and ice levels. I also didn't like all the enemies that were vulnerable to one kind of beam and you had to keep switching everytime a new enemy came out. These are just minor gripes as the fire and ice levels were very well done but in 2 they were forced to be more creative with the levels I think. I really liked the dark world part and I think it had better bosses also.
Also I have no comprehension of why people are bothered by the backtracking. This is an adventure game not a linear game.

I just had a problem with the backtracking in Mp2 cause ive been to all those areas all the time and they all looked the same to me, it wasnt that much of an annoyance but at times it did get to me in the back of my mind. I didnt mind backtracking in MP1 cause all the areas look unique so you werent always like in a dark area, i also liked the ice andfirelevels.
both are boring unrealistic and plain stupid go play a real shooter like RE4 cloud31blunt
Yes, very realistic indeed.

  You really make me laugh! Why bother wasting your time entering this topic and posting this, if you don't even like these games?, and by the way, Metroid Prime was a better game than Resident Evil 4, and I played both games throughly and loved both, but Prime is definitely better.
In answer to the topic (nice idea, by the way!), I would say I preferred Metroid Prime 1 by far (more fresh, original, better locations, music etc.) I did like MP2, but just didn't like the dark world at times because it got annoying. Some parts even made me lose interest, play other games, and come back to the game later (I don't know why, but it just did). The best part in MP2 in my opinion, was the Torvus Bog (Light Map) and without it, the game wouldn't have been half as enjoyable as it is.

thanks man, :( i loved res4.. so this must be a great game :)Only recently finished Prime 1 and just started Prime 2. So far I think Prime 2 is better because its improved things I never liked about the first one. Such as
Backtracking.. - They managed to add the light/dark world and mix it up a bit, I think its more interesting.
Story - The first one had just Samus really, this one has tied light/dark world and troopers/pirates as well as dark samus causing chaos, there is more happening than just Samus running around the world.
Flow - For once, Im finding the second actually more straightforward to navigate.
I think Im probably in the minority. But Prime 2 is more intriguing game, I feel that there is more reasons to actually explore the world.
I enjoy MP1 more, but both are good.Nintendogamer3
Yeah, as I basically said already in my earlier post, I'm gonna have to agree with Nintendogamer3. I just couldn't get into MP2: Echoes like I could with MP1, Prime 1 was definitely better. End of story for me.
