hi,

i'm borrowing a GC from a friend for a while and need some games to play. i thought i'd buy them on ebay and sell them again after playing them. so it won't cost me much money to play the games.

i'm a PC player so i don't have any clues about consoles, especially not the GC

games i already know i will buy are: paper mario, zelda wind waker / TP, Eternal Darkness, viewtiful joe

i don't want to play shooters on GC (unless they are really good) because i think shooters are way better on PC. also multiplayer and sports games are not on my list. also games that already exist for pc.

so what would you recommend and why?

Well for shooters I would recommend:

Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and if you don't like those kinda games get Timesplitters 2 and 3 those are really fun.

Other games are:

Phantasy Star Online 1 and 2, Starfox Adventures, Skies of Arcadia, Baten Kaitos, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing

everyone's recommending metroid prime. but judging by the screenshots it looks a bit like halo, which compared to pc shooters like half life 2 is really crappy. what's all the fuss with metroid prime about?

also metal gear solid twin snakes is a remake of the original MGS right? if so, i've already played that on pc.

RE4, Smash Bros., Metroid Prime 1, Twin Snakes, Twilight, and Mario Kart if you want to have a blast for hours with just 2 people.

These are the cream of the crop for the Gamecube, I think.  Lots of other good titles are out there, but if you're short on cash, only get the best.

In truth Metroid Prime really is not that great compared to Halo and Half Life, but it is honestly the only decent shooter the Gamecube has. I definately reccomend the obvious zelda games, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and most of all, RESIDENT EVIL 4. Seriously one of the best games Ever, on any system. Not to mention it has some great graphics for the Gamecube.

Metroid Prime isnt a good shooter. It was only good back when it first came out.

Make sure you try Pikmin 2. Metal Gear Twin Snakes is unplayably bad IMO. Metroid is a bore.

Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes is a remake of the Playstation version but what a remake it is.  It uses the same graphics and gameplay as MGS2 which just makes it even better then its Playstation brother in my opinion.. It is worth getting even if you played it on PS.

Metroid Prime is much better than Halo, its even better than HL2 on the PC...but just barely.

Just remember this, Metroid Prime is an Action Adventure game and not a FPS, don't let the first-person view fool you, the game is much more than just shooting.

lol, Prime is a MUCH better game than Halo, not even close, played them both, have you?

Prime is better than HL2 as well IMO, but its close. They were the 2 best games this generation IMO.

Super Smash Bros Melee, would be a fine addition. Also Tales of Symphonia is one which you should have played. Both are excellent games and will make you want to stay home for another few weeks.
