I own both N64 and Gamecube. I like Gamecube than N64 because Gamecube regained more RPGs, and fighting games.
Ogre Battle 64, and Paper Mario
Tales of Symphonia, Paper Mario the Thousand-Year Door, Skies of Legendia Legends, Lost Kingdoms 1-2, Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2 Plus, Baten Kaitos, and Baten Kaitos Origins
I own 20 N64 games, and over 140 Gamecube games. No, I do not dislike N64. Because I bought more Playstation 1 games than N64 games. I own over 300 (least or more half are original) Playstation games.
I like the Gamecube, because it has more games that appeal to me and which also won't age as fast. This may seem like a flawed viewpoint to some, but I think that the enhancements in graphics and storage space the GC has over the N64 made for gameplay that would not be possible on the N64, and games that will still be solid in several years. For instance, take Metroid Prime - it would simply have not been possible on the N64, and its artistic style (which was able to be expressed with the level of graphics the GC is capable of), story, and atmosphere will make it a classic many, many years from now.
It seems to me like the 6th gen in general was the flatlining of gameplay, if you will - with 6th gen consoles, the hardware had progressed enough that an enormous amount of quality gaming experiences was possible. Whereas with the 7th gen, gameplay in general hasn't evolved at all; physics is the only new gameplay-affecting feature it brings to the table.
And ice_radon, are you really still level 37? I thought I remember seeing you at level 37 when I first started posting on GS two years ago... :?
i think the game cube is way better because it does a hole remake of the n 64 gamescorybooneg
lol...
NES FTW!!!!
N64 beats Gamecube for technology of its time, but not in terms of decency when compared straight out.
Excluding things like Zelda, games for the Gamecube were longer, and generally deeper and thats just because the console had better technology by that time, so gamemakers could add more to the games.
was such an inconvinent shape compared to xbox (giant cube to sleek box)monkeytoes61
Are you thinking of the same Xbox I am? :P
I have a Wii(formely a GC) and a N64 and I love them both. Originally I purchased the N64 for one single purpose: Ocarina of Time. Eventually I found other great games, like Paper Mario, Mario Golf etc. Now it seems that all systems are becoming one, since I'm sure that Nintendo will release a significant amount of the N64 library through Virtual Console.
However, you can't replace the original experience using that strange N64 controller, holding it strangely in your hand.
Bottom line, it's all good.
Both are great. Both had great games. But the Gamecube simply had better games, and technology for obvious reasons.
I enjoyed the Nintendo 64 much more than the GameCube. The GameCube definitely has the upper hand in the category of more support and having more third party games, but pretty much every Nintendo 64 game that was developed by Nintendo was an unforgettable master piece. There were also some others that were not made by Nintendo that were also phenomenal.
GoldenEye 007, Super Mario 64, Perfect Dark, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong 64, Star Fox 64, Super Smash Bros, Paper Mario. The GameCube definitely has some greats as well, but they just can't live up to their predecessors on the Nintendo 64.
i pick both heck even snes is still great ,
gc because mariokart dd and timesplitters 2 and 3 were the best goldeneye followups period besides pd64 64
because well goldeneye 007 and perfect dark alongside mariokart and mario64 would not hurt at all the best games are on nintendo '/xbox1 and ps1 so ya
this gen goes to wii and 360 for now!
Just bought a Gamecube...So yeah, GC beats N64 mainly because of the controller setup. It fits in my hands perfectly, and the graphics were improved. Ah...the nostalgia.
