I never played splinter cell because I thought it was too hard. But i'm already in Israeli base (level 4?) I'm never patient with stealth games. I hate stealthy games but this one is packed with style. The framerates can get a bit choppy at times which isn't on xbox version but what can you do. The graphics are intense. Some of the best usage of shadows/lighting in any GC game.

There are many checkpoints too! Unlike XIII which had like 1 checkpoint every 15 minutes. One thing is there isn't much ammo in SC games but it's really satisfying to run up and elbow someone right in the face and watch them pummel to the ground. I want to get them all now!

While I am a fan of the series, I really can't call it a good game on the GameCube. It had serious frame rate issues, blurry textures, glitching sound and a new loading screen after every 5 rooms. All in all, it was a port that shouldn't be. I sold my GC-version and bought it again on Xbox and I'm happy for that.

I've stayed away from the GC SC games because I already have SC1 on the PC, and the other games got pretty lackluster reviews...

well sure it's not going to be as impressive as the XBox but it's still very impressive for a GC title. It's not that bad, the reviews were bad on GC probably because they didn't have multiplayer and because the review keeps the $50 cost in mind. When you can find them for $5 they are worth it.

Plus user reviews are always in the 8.0's so I don't care about GS reviews because some splinter cell obsessed freak didn't get some option that is on the xbox so he downrated it. The guy wears splinter cell clothing every time he does a video review...

If you think that the GC is bad, imagine the PS2 version being half as powerful as the GC. Yet it still gets amazing reviews even though the lighting engine is pathetic.

You should pick up Chaos Theory now, cause IMO that was the best one.

If you want to play it in all its glory, get a used Xbox for cheap. Chaos theory looks amazing on it.

Yes, it's a good game but I own it on the PC so why would ever want to play it on GC? And the PC and Xbox versions actually have online unlike the GC version.

Out of curiosity, do more than 4 people play online in the real version? Because I played the MP demo a year or two ago, and almost nobody played it... usually games with thriving online communities have at least some people playing the demo. :?

Oh, and are there issues with PT and your DVD drive, if you have one? Because I was going to get the game, but then I read that it didn't work with most DVD drives for some reason... :?

I haven't play the game in years so I'm not sure how big the online community currently is.

The game works fine in my DVD drive but the version I have is all on CD's so I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Why play it on the GC? maybe because it has an extra level designed only for the GC? Online play? Since when are you into multiplayer? I thought you were all about that immersive single player action?

Indeed, the GC version of Pandora Tomorrow has a level not in the Xbox version at all. Additionally, it has GC-GBA connectivity for level maps, enemy and item positions, etc. The GC-GBA connectivity feature isn't anything spectacular, but it's there and the new level is a major addition.

I'm guessing that he thinks that the extra level and GBA connectivity isn't worth the cost of buying the game on GC when he's already played most of it...

I enjoyed the first 3 Splinter Cell games on Cube. Chaos Theory in my opinion is the best because you have a knife and can kill up close. On the first 2 you have to rely on your gun and it makes it pretty challenging.

They delievered great graphics, gameplay, stories and makes your feel like a real spy.

The only one I hated was Double Agent because Ubisoft gave this version the shaft. Compared to the other 3, it has crappy graphics and a weak lighting system. I say all of the first 3 over Double Agent.

My rankings. Splinter Cell- 8.4, Pandora Tomorrow- 8.1, Chaos Theroy- 8.8, Double Agent-4.7

The online play is better than an extra level.

Since when are you into multiplayer? I thought you were all about that immersive single player action?

It depends what type of game we're talking about. For Metroid, Zelda, and Mario single player is of the utmost importance. But for games like Smash Bros, Halo, and Splinter Cell multiplayer is an important feature. Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory had some of the best multiplayer of last gen too. And for you graphic whores, the PC and Xbox versions have better graphics than the GC version.

In your opinion. And online play is temporary; it will be gone eventually. The exrta level, however, is permanent.

And for you graphic whores, the PC and Xbox versions have better graphics than the GC version.

The games, with the exception of Double Agent, look beautiful on GameCube and are pretty close to being as good as the Xbox version. The GC versions also support progressive scan, and with it look even better and nearly as good as the Xbox version.

^You might want to take a look at the bottom center of the disc before buying, though. Look for a code and if you see 0-01, then the disc is the version that fixes the glitch. Otherwise, if the numbers are 0-00, then it's the one with the glitch.

I am sure the Wii has better realistic stealth games available....NOT! The first 3 GC Splinter Cell games are greater than near 85% of the Wii's games. Also Double Agent on the Wii was an embrassment. Remember those touch ups and how the game actually ended up looking like crap. How sad that the first 3 Splinter Cell games for the Cube had far superior graphics even released years ago.

Err, if you think DA for the Wii was bad, that means you also think that PT and CT on the GC were bad, because they were criticized for pretty much the same reasons. But what's the point of bringing up the Wii anyways? If anything, talk about the Xbox and PC versions; that's what the original debate was between.

No, PT and CT on the Cube were masterpieces compared to the trash of DA on the Wii. Both had better graphics and the lighting made sense. The lighting effects inDA were horrendous and the framerate was worse than those two GC games. Sad really, given the Wii is supposed to have better hardware.

On PT and CT for Cube, if you went into a dark place, you could not see Sam and when light shone on him he was visible to your eyes and various parts of his suit lit up. So much better.

Yea the XBOX and PC versions are the best, but when standalone the GC versions are great in their aspects. Ubisofts games for GC are far greater than the Wii trash they make. Even Prince of Persia 3 is better on GC than Wii.

Yes DA on the Cube sucks but the first 3 are awesome and more intense than any Wii game out now.
