This is odd...in recent months I've seen game cube game prices actually elevate on popular titles (esp. those that are difficult to find).

For example, I didn't know that the Spartan Total Warrior game was so popular and I passed it up as a purchase @15 a number of times.  Since then, not only can I not find it at any of the local game stores, but the price online (amazon, ebay, etc.) has climbed (around 50 bucks new or used).  My guess is that this is the result of that movie 300....

Anyway, is anyone else noticing this?????????

yea the popular and more "recent" titles tend to have the weird fluctuating price tags.  didn't really see total warrior's price go to 50 at my local gamestop, but very surprising that it would shoot up so high.  personally, an ok game.  worth at most 20 bucks.  definitely NOT worth 50.  even if you only have a gamecube (like me), i would suggest holding out.  i have the game and it is not that special (even after seeing 300).

I thought it was pretty good, not worth 50 though... and I agree with 20, definantly with how long it's been out now. that's weird that it went up though.

Gamecube games have been holding their value really well thanks to the Wii's backwards compatibility.

I've noticed Nintendo's unfair game prices for quite some time now.  Take SSBM for example.  That's an ancient game that's sold a trillion copies, yet the price still hovers quite high at the $40 mark.

Same with Fire Emblem.  $59.99 for Fire Emblem, NOW?  That game's been out for a year and a half and the price still hasn't moved.

I suppose the prices will come down eventually, or you could do like me and buy everything used for dirt cheap.

Yep, it happens. Especially with older Mario titles. It sucks.

Because certain games are not being produced anymore and the fact that some new Wii owners (especially ones that never had a Gamecube before) are now interested in cube games I guess this is why the prices are now increasing for some games.

It will happen with Twilight Princess too. It was only available for a short time. Since it's now discontinued I'd get it now, if you don't already have it.

It's already happened in the UK with Twilight Princess for the Gamecube. I didn't want to buy it a full price therefore I didn't preorder from any game shop. I thought I could wait a few months and then buy it but I was wrong as it sold like hot cakes. I had to scout around on e-bay before I could find the game at a decent enough price.
