I'd rent them if you've never played a RE game before. RE4 doesn't count either since it's different.

They are good games but the controls are terrible and the fixed camera angles are annoying. Don't expect these games to be like RE4.

Well, if you liked that game you'll like these two. And if you didn't like that game you won't like these two.

I never had any difficulty with the controls in the older Resident Evil games at all. If you don't have a problem with the controls, then you'd probably really enjoy the remake and zero. I enjoyed them both a lot.

RE1 on gamecube (aka REmake) is a remake of RE1 on ps1.
so i think you would like this one on gamecube too.

One thing I really enjoyed about the remake of 1 on the Gamecube was the requirement to douse zombies with carosine and torch them, or else they will eventually rise up later and attack you down the road.

And the addition of character swapping in zero was super cool in my opinion.

If you don't judge the Resident Evil series by RE4, yes, if you go into these games expecting a re4 kind of game, chances are you're gonna end up very frustrated.....

Both worth picking up despite what anyone says, if you played the original on the PSX you'll like REmake as it throws in some nifty extras and looks really nice graphically. RE0 was made for the GC only and looks as nice a sRemake and is an interesting prequel to the incidents at the mansion.

If you pick up REmake be sure to grab RE0 as well as the storyline will make a lot more sense to you.

The RE1 remake is a damn classic, and it's probably the scariest game for the system (either that or Eternal Darkness). Zombies have to be burned or decapitated to be put down in a fight. If you don't do either or, they'll revive faster and tougher. You can stuff hand grenades in enemies mouths, stun them with tasers, stick them with knives to the head to keep from being attacked while grabbed. It was just one tenth of a point from being rated AAA here at GS, if scores mean anything to you.

RE0 while good, didn't keep any of the things that made the RE1 remake so great. Insteadit introduced atoggling buddy system, (one character being controlled by the AI) the ability for you to just drop items anywhere, and a few new enemies to entice the RE crowd. It's a good RE game, but it's far from the best, and I'm not placing RE4 in this equation, but out of the older RE games. I'd put 2 and 3 above 0.

REmake is a must have, the very first game i bought for my gamecube. RE0 is... well, only for someone who never played a RE game before (not counting 4, it'sabsolutelydifferent). While it's not a bad game, it just isn't as good as REmake or any other RE game for that matter. Something like Silent Hill 4, it's good game if you never played a SH game before, but if you played all previous Silent Hills, it's really, really bad compared to the others (especially godlike Silent Hill 2).

BTW, if you have a somewhat capable PC or at least PS2 (if you don't mind crappy graphics), i strongly recommend you to get Silent Hill 2 and 3 over Resident Evil Remake and 0. They have better atmosphere, puzzles, story and gameplay... Not to mention Pyramid Headand plot twist inSH2.

You should get RE zero if its $1-$9 and resident evil 1 if it is $1-$14 I beat Resident Evil 0 in 20 hrs in 5 days(blockbuster rental, had to whoop it fast) RE1 took 30hrs over a much longer period of time. They are not RE4, but they are good and I married the graphics of RE1 (then cheated on it with RE4...don't tell...)

How can you compare RE4 to REmake and RE0? It's acompletely different game not too mention REmake = Original; thus Original = Best.

RE0, it's to short, you can beat it in acouple of hours, then you get a mini game called lech hunters, that it's really easy to, and you can unlock all infinte weapons in the game, the new foe in the game are lech zombies, just keep some molotov cocktails to burn them. Easy RE whit cool graphics. . .

REmake, a little more dificult than other RE games, you have to burn or decapitate zombies because they turn into crimson heads, not the deadliest foe in the game but they are really annoying, just like the original RE for play station, there's not a lot of ammo in the mansion, keep your bullets, use shotgun for bosses and hunters and the magnum for tyrant, there's not mini games in REmake, just "real survival" and "invisible enemy", they sucks, then you can unlock the samurai edge, infinte hand gun, not so cool but it help you to get the infinite rocket launcher. pretty cool RE,buy it. . .

this is my top list of Resident evil series:

Resident evil 4

Resident evil 2

Remake

RE3 and RE0

The Games are awesome, I have all of the Series in GCN, Personally Zero and REmake are very hard games for people that don't know the series well, specially RE0, The puzzles aren't very friendly but not imposible, some people really like these survival horror games, but dont ever get to finish them because they are either too hard for them or too scary,

Well here it is: If I had never played one in my life I would ceirtanly start with Re4, why? because its more easy, the puzzles are not as hot-headed as 0 and 1, and gameplay is more friendly, don't worry, much of what we know or as I call it "common knowledge" of the other games is not given away in RE4.

One of the main reasons peolple like RE4 is because of its easier and more dinamic-less-tension gameplay, its a great direction for the series, but people should also play the other games, or at least the REmake, after all it has been re-made like 3 times, (original, director's cut, dualshok, remake)

People! do me a favor and go to www.gametrailers.comcheck Resident Evil 5 Extended Trailer, It will leave you wanting more, its actually based in this great movie which I also recommend Black Hawk Down, Cool!!

Bart: dad you killed zombie Flanders!

Homer:he was a zombie?
