I just picked up this game a few hours ago, when I staretd it up, the menu was in Japanese or Chinese or some sort, the only other game I have played on my gamecube is Paper Mario thousand year door and it had no problems.
Is it my gamecube or the game? How do I get this issue resolved? Thanks.
the box looks fine, everything reads english, says "Made in the USA", also says "for sale, rental and use only in USA, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America" The booklet is in English, in the booklet it says I can set it to Jpanese or English, but I can't read anything so I do not know how to navigate through it, and I don't have any friends who read japanese either, if anyone could help me maybe navigate through it, I would really appriciate it. Thanks a lot.
When you press Start at the title screen and the main menu comes up, the Options menu is the fourth selection on the menu, the one that is second from the bottom. When you go into the Options menu, one of the selections should say "Language" in English.
If I were you, I would google the japanese translation for "options" and "language". It should be easy enough to find the correct options from there. The games has obviously been set to japanese.

I doubt that will help him if his computer does not have support for Asian fonts, so not even the Katakana will show up.
