The Gamecube killer controler

I have a question.... why does my controler kill my gamecube and any gamecube use it on. When i connect it it shuts down any gamecube it is connected on. it is actually kind of cool. I wanna sell it on e.bay to see if any crazy one buys it just to bother its friends. That's what i do lol
