yea, definitely agree with that. the whole new different controller makes it seem like N64 x 1 1/2 since 64 was both a controller revolution and graphics revolution. Gamecube 2 would probably be pretty awesome....I like the controller enough....maybe make it a bit bigger.  plus i liked the library of games....maybe get a few more shooters and fighting games, and DEFINITELY mario, not this paper mario crap tho.  we're talkin mario64 style

No offense but seeing as how immensely popular teh Wii has become I can't see them doing a GCTwo type thing. The next machine will be an upgraded Wii + Better GFX I expect. I know what you mean tho, it woul dbe kind of cool as the GC was a sweet unit but the reality alwasy comes down teo £ and $ signs...sry :(

The games that seem simple actually have a lot of depth inside of them. Look at Wii Sports, it's fun, but the rising difficulty and your skill level gives you added zing.

The Wii is the nearest thing to a Gamecube 2 even with its new control scheme. To be honest calling any system a Gamecube 2 would be a mistake since the name Gamecube is sadly linked to a system that didn't do as well as expected. Before anyone has a massive go at me I suggest you have a look at the number of Gamecube games I own.

Xbox -> Xbox 360, PS2 ->PS3 names yes but Gamecube 2 is not a good idea for its name. Wii is a better name because it symbolises what the system is about.

If Nintendo ever realise a true successor to the GBA I'm sure they might use the 'Game Boy' brand name because it did so well.
