I don't see y u guys LOVE OoT so much. I mean seriously, tell me y. Iv'e beaten it, played MM, beaten WW a few times, and am currently playing TP, but OoT just doesn't seem all that wonderful to me. I mean, ya it was somewhat entertaining, and ya it was long, but it's just not all that spectacular compared to WW or TP. It was ok I guess. And MM which was more of a hassel than it was fun. I love WW. It's an awsome game. Iv'e beaten it like 3 times and it is still extremely fun to me. And right now i'm playing TP and it's awsome, ecspecially the graphics. But OoT just wasn't all that great. It was kind of slow to me. It was easy. Yall say that it has sooo much heart and soul in it. What the flip are u talking about? WW and TP has heart and soul in it. I think that OoT is way too much over rated. It doesn't deserve a perfect 10. Just barely an 8. And MM, well that game was just too much work and too little fun. I had the Zelda Colectors Edition, and I traded it in to get TP. I surre am happy that I did too because TP is much better than OoT and MM. Seriously.

Like I said, OoT is way too much OVER RATED.

I agree with colonel_beeb.

You did not play the game when it came out, when we did not have WW or TP. You do not know that OoT set the standards for WW and TP. You probably do not even know of a certain game named "A Link to the Past" which set the standards for every Zelda that come out in the last 10 years. Please, sometimes it's best to keep your opinion to yourself.

You didn't play OoT when it first came out, so of course you think the newer ones are better.  And you shouldn't be saying OoT is too easy even though you haven't finished TP yet.  TP is FAR easier than OoT.  And it has soul?  Are you kidding?  Why wasn't OoT that good anyway?  You keep saying the same thing over and over again.

Yeah, I know what you guys are talking about. When I played ALttP (on GBA), I wasn't that impressed, but that was because I had already played the GBC Zelda games which used most of ALttP's innovations.

Ya it definitely hasn't aged well in terms of graphics (but what game from 1997 really has?) but it set the standard for 3d action adventure games when it was first released and did everything the 2d Zelda's did and brought it to 3d which not many games have been able to do (castlevania for an example)

Youre probably a new gamer, that's why. If you have played it back in the N64 generation, like most of us, you'll understand. It's like someone in 2050 thats says that TP has bad graphics.

Wow, someone who dislikes both MM and OoT. I haven't come across this yet.

My favorite games are Oot, MM, and TP. Untouchable.

You pretty much nailed it there.
People who played Ocarina of time back when it came out, know that it was the best.
People who haven't played it until now kind of feel like it has nothing "new" to offer compared to the other games, when really, the other games are following the formula introduced in OOT.
My girlfriend started Zelda through Twilight Princess. Shes currently playing Windwaker. She tried Ocarina of time and didnt think it was as good as Twilight. See the pattern?

What cracks me up with this post is that this person plainly doesnt realise that without the standard that OoT set,  games would probably be very different today.  Graphically when it was released it was amazing, its length was just fantastic and story wise it just rocked.

Even now when I play OoT and MM I think the graphics are great and it still plays perfectly to this day..  Twilight Princess is nice but its only skin deep, Ocarina of Time had a heart and soul.

U no, what cracks me up is that u guys have no idea when i played OoT. U don't no if i played it now or several years ago. For ur information, I played both OoT and MM when they both came out on N64. And I never said that I don't like them. I just said that I don't think that they are worth a 10, now or then. And I definetely don't see how u people can just play it over and over and over again. I can do that with TP or WW, but not OoT or MM. And just to let u no, the moron who said that I had never heard of A Link to the Past, think again. Iv'e played it. So don't u guys start saying things that u don't no. Think before u say anything.

You're the one that said you played it on the Zelda Collectors Edition and turned it in for TP because it was boring.  Sure sounds like you only played it recently.  You should've said you played it on the N64.

Oh, and people have different opinions.  Personally, I can't see how you play WW and TP over and over again.  I beat 'em twice and thought they were terrific, but IMO OoT was better than either.

Ok, where to start. I originally asked you when you played it. I was prepared to make an assumption because i assumed you would answer me without giving everyone lip. The way you originally worded your opinion suggested you only played it recently. There are two things which suggest this; the fact that you mentioned you owned the master quest cd coupled with the fact that you said you weren't that interested in replaying either OoT or MM, so why rebuy it? What is strange is that you have no reason to lie but i find it odd that the leap from OoT to TP or even WW wasnt that great but for its time OoT was such a huge adventure and it was vastly more interesting than any other game. How would you find it boring for its time?

O My Gosh. Allow me to rexplain myself for the 100th time. I got and played OoT and MM way back when they 1st came out.  Then for Christmas my Mom bought me the collecters disk for my Cube. I did like them then and I still do now. Yall think that I hate them. I don't. I mean come on, its Zelda. I just don't think that those 2 r all that great then or now. OoT to me certainly doesn't deserve a perfect 10. It was just somewhat dull. No not becuase of the old graphics or old gameplay methods. It just had some boring parts to it. Actually to me, a lot of it seemed more like work than it did playing a game. A lot of it did. Ecspecially in MM. With the whole 3 day deal. I wanted to kill myself. It bugged the crap out of me. But TP and WW are not like that. They don't bore me and they are so much fun to play,  That's just my opinion. I dont want 2 get on here and get in to it with people over a video game. That is just stupid. I just simply wanted to no y yall liked OoT and MM so much. Y they r like video game Gods to yall. I just don't see it. Now WW and TP on the other hand I love. I just could never play OoT and MM again without commiting suicide. Seriously. So just tell me y yall like them. And for the love of God, read before yall freakin write. I mean come on. I wrote that I played them when they 1st came out and I have poeple writing me and saying that I don't like them because I just now played them. For Gods sake get some eyes. And don't ever call me a lier again. That is nothing but a bunch of kid crap and I am in High School and I don't need that crap. Grow up.

I'm sorry, but from reading your posts I can only think of 3 possible things.
1.- Your spelling leads me to believe that you are about 13 years old, in which case you must have been about 5 years old when the game came out, far too young to be able to read. You grew up and did not appreciate the game for what it was then.
2.- You may be lying about actually playing it 'back in the day'
3.- Can't say because of Gamespot's TOS, and are just trying to stir up something.
All in all, you have to realize that many people, including my self, love this game. You have your opinion and we have ours. Trying to tell Gamespot that they should lower the score on the game from its rightfully earned 10 is absurd.

[QUOTE="JellyfishMan"]O My Gosh. Allow me to rexplain myself for the 100th time.
I just simply wanted to no y yall liked OoT and MM so much.

Funny, '100th time', and yet you only have 13 posts as of that very post. You made your point about not liking the game, that's fine and acceptable, but don't fight it when people give their own opinions.

Jesus Christ. You didnt explain your situation properly the first time. You didnt fully explain it the second time. You keep on adding to this story. I dont believe you and im calling you a liar now because only liars get enraged when someone even makes the tiniest insinuation that they are lying. I did read what you said. I did ask you when you originally played it but i assumed you had only played it recently because it is quite a common opinion of people who had only played OoT recently that it wasnt that good.

You said you though OoT wasnt as great as people said and then said you still thought they were good. After that you then went on to say that you would kill yourself if you ever played them again. That doesnt seem like the opinion of someone who liked them, even if it was the second time through.

Why are you making such a bigd deal about it. You're in school, you talk to people the way you do and you tell them to grow up. Quite frankly you have no respect for anyone so it is infact you who should grow up.

Can a mod please close this and if jellyfishman wants to speak to me you can PM me.

That was a point i meant to mention. Especially if he is only in high school atm.

EDIT: Btw, no one cares when you played it. It doesnt make you any less of a gamer if you played it now or when it was originally released.

Oh my gosh. You see, this is why I hate posting. Like I said in the last message, I don't want any trouble. I do like OoT. I just think that it is not worthy of a perfect 10. It was a litlle boring to me. And even though I like it, that doesn't mean that I would want to play a second time through. And MM was more like work to me than anything. Although I thought that it was somewhat more entertaining than OoT. That is my opinion. All I wanted to know was simply why yall thought that it deserved a perfect 10. That's all. And if my opinion makes you mad or makes you want to call me a liar, then so be it. I don't have to prove myself to yall. All I wanted was your opinions. Not crap.
