I don't think any game should get a 10 out of 10. It should be a goal that ever game should try for put never get. 9.5 should be the highest, cause a 10 means there isn't one thing in a game that should be or could be changed.
I think that too many games are being given 9.5 these days. Every game that has been hyped will automaticaly get a 9.5 any connections? I have stopped using the GS rating system to see if a game is worth checking out after the whole Kane & Lynch incident where an honest review got someone fired. I want to see the old rating system back and make the reviews actually about the quality of the game, not about how much money a big corporation is given.

I think Lair for the PS3 will have something to say about hyped games getting high ratings.
I personally disagree, Idont see too many games getting 9.5, but I do find that some games that should get a higher rating gets a lower one and vice versa. But really, someones opinion on a game is just that, an opinion, and it kind of had to say anything about it, since the reviewer is only giving his opinion(although that editor incident did shake my faith in this site). Thats why I always rent before purchase, so I can try it myself, I only use ratings as a guidelineand nothing more. I also pay more attention to user reviews, as they tend to be more honest.
To my knowledge, only 3 games at GS have gotten a perfect 10: Chrono Cross, Zelda: OoT, and one of the Tony Hawk games. The original perfect dark came very close with a 9.9.

I agree, no game is perfect. Some come close to near perfection but nothing will ever be perfect.
