PC uses controllers as well, why do people keep acting like they don't? U can even use a 360 controller. So it will control as good as console, not that it matters, Mouse/Keybord would be fine for a game like assassins creed.
Since ME has actual depth, replayability, and not to mention a brilliant storyline/universe, i would say ME. the only thing wrong with it really are some glitches (which i think are mostly caused by the 360's crappy hardware, because everyone has varying degrees of problems) and the barren side planets. if those issues did not exist it's an easy 9.5/10OneWingedAngeI
huh? whats hardware got to do with it!?
it was Bioware rushing the release of the game that did it, it obviously wasnt ready and they didnt play test it properly
what would lead you to believe that hardware has anything to do with it?
Mass Effect is an instant purchase for me. Assassin's Creed on the other hand...as I learned more and more about the game, my desire to play it has only decreased. It also seems it'll just be another unoptimized Ubisoft mess with requirements higher than Crysis. :|
gonna have to say mass effect, assassins creed wont work as well on a mouse and keyboard though i be they make a games for windows title and give it 360 controller support...danny_dm_moore
How do u know? why do people keep posting this nonsense? Games like Creed work fine with K/M, but PC's use gamepads, and not just the 360 controller. God.

Hardware has everything to do with texture popping, frame rate issues. The 360 is not near as powerful as a good PC, which will eleimnate these issues. Oblivion was the same, ran much better on PC, 360 had isssues with stuttering and loading new areas as well.
The other issue with the 360 is games on that system have to stream from the DVD drive, PC uses the much faster Hard Drive. MS's decision to sell a 360 without a HD was stupid.
Mass Effect seems like it would be much better suited for the PC crowd. Assassin's Creed is short and repetitive.
And people are saying that they keyboard will stink because it doesn't have analog controls. You're going to have to toggle run, hold another key so Altair will react to the environment and then have a jump button. So they'll either dumb down controls for the keyboard and mouse or start doing hand yoga because you're going to have to press at least 3 buttons at the same time constantly.

PC'S USE CONTOLLERS, HOW HARD IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND. either way, Creed is not a great game, Mass effect is.
Also, you are wrong, there are may ways they can change the controls to utilize K/M effectively. Credd is not the first game of its type to be on Pc and use K/M.

1 i know about controllers, i've seen you whining about them since your first post
2. i said they would change controls (the dumbing down part) so tht it would be easier for keyboards
3. if you're going to get this upset every time someone posts about PC, you should get more sleep or something. you have about 14 posts and all of them are you using capslock whining about PC controls... we understand your point of view so try your best to understand others.

Dumbing down is the other way around, dumbing them down for the limted controller. Keybaord and mouse offer more customization, more options then any controller. Most any game works fine and even many times better with keybaord and mouse. No reason credd won't work as good on K/M as a controller, it will.
where do people come up with this stuff, dumbing down for K/M, get real. controllers are often more limiting then K/M, with the exception of sports games and the few that work better with controller.

yes you can customize a keyboard's 50+ keys but do you really need to when the game only has about 7 buttons and a controller works perfectly for it?
No
Do you need the quick aiming or turning with a mouse?
No
Does keyboard have analogue controls?
No
Are keyboards ergonmically designed for hands?
No
so tell me, what pros does the keyboard and mouse have with assassin's creed?
None

Many keyboard are ergonomically designed, where have u been?
Being able to customize the keys that suits u is an advantage no matter how u slice it.
Quick turning and more fluid movement is always better with a mouse
Pc can use gamepads, bets of both worlds, how will it be worse on PC?
What does analog sticks have to do with anything? They suck usually.
The extra keys can allow for more functionality, see mass effect, creed is no different, if the devs wanted they could take advantage of this.
Creed would work fine with K/M, if the player doesn't like it, they can plug ina controller, best of both worlds, fail to see how controls on PC are even an issue.

Ergonomics is working with equipment that is less likely to stress your body out by keeping it a natural position. Hold your hands out in front of you and face your palms toward each other... did you notice that's the perfect shape of a videogame controller? Now put your hands facing down, i've never seen a keyboard that is round and lets you type in that position. You want to know how I can play videogames for 20 years and i never got Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
you know what's better than customizing buttons? not having to because they work perfectly where they are at...like they do on a controller
Quick turning isn't better in 3rd person games. To turn around in assassin's creed on the 360, I have to move my thumb an inch in the opposite direction and Ta Da! i'm turned around. On PC i'll have to swing my right hand around so that the camera moves that way. hmmmm which is easier?
Analogue sticks provide precise movement. why do you think not many 3rd person action adventure games come out on PC? if i have to kreep by someone, i just tilt the stick a slight bit, if i need to speed up i can slowly do it, if i need to run i press the stick all the way up. The only way a keyboard can attempt something like that is with toggles and toggles will never have movement that smooth.
extra functionality? have you even played assassin's creed? you act like he has 40 different weapons, a hang glider and a machine gun. everything done in the game is done with 7 buttons. Also Mass Effect didn't need buttons for each power, you spend the majority of combat taking cover where you can easily plan your attack and switch powers/weapons and everything while you're waiting for your opportunity.
lastly not everyone has a controller for their PC. When there's dozens of FPS's, RPG's and RTS's... who needs to buy a controller? you expect everyone to run out buy a $50 game and then buy a $50 controller just for one game? yeah that's going to happen

what would lead me to think that? how about the fact that i had *zero* game stopping errors? only one instance of slowdown? and my popins were there, but not too bad. then i hop on the boards and everyone is talking about the game crawling to a halt, massive popin, glitches and bugs galore. it is not uniform. this leads me to conclude that there are issues with the varying quality of 360 hardware that are a factor in at least the slowdown, and probably more.
Mass Effect will probably be the better game on PC out of the two, mainly cause Ubisoft can't optimize a PC game to save their lives. The PC previews of Mass Effect are already extremely positive with some sites saying the PC version has improvements and is running well. BioWare's previous games on PC have worked well, even when they were ported, and EA has been a pretty solid publisher of PC games.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft is probably the worst publisher out there when it comes to PC games, not to mention this is a port that probably won't be optimized at all for PC hardware and I wouldn't be surprised to see it shipped in a bug ridden state, even with the time they've had to make corrections.....just like many of Ubisoft's games over the past couple of years. The system requirements for Assassin's Creed are astronomical, even Crysis doesn't have required specs as demanding, so it's already a hint at what a bad port job this game will be. I never buy Ubisoft developed games for the PC, simply cause Ubisoft has demonstrated it doesn't know how to optimize a game for the PC platform, and it's looking like Assassin's Creed will be no different.
In terms of gameplay....Mass Effect looks to be the better choice. I haven't played it yet (I was actually holding out for a PC announcement), but I've heard nothing but praise for the storyline. I also know to expect more of an action shooter then a pure RPG, which is ok by me since I could tell this game was gonna be an Action-hybrid ever since the first gameplay videos were announced.
I've completed Assassin's Creed, and it is an extremely repetitive game and probably my biggest disappointment of last year. The game looks nice and the environmental work is top notch as is the ability to scale objects in the game.....but it you're literally doing the same tasks over and over again to the point that it becomes tedious and boring and it really does feel as if the developers made this detailed game world and a cool climbing mechanic, but couldn't quite figure out how to put in the actual gameplay. The only reason I actually made it through the game is cause I played it sporadically while playing other games.

Gears play better with Keyboard and mouse (See reviews), much better aiming, cover works identical, and it is much quicker switchign weapons. The others yes, u are correct.

PC has been host to some of the best RPG's ever created....This game, This game, This game, and This game are proof of that.
There is a reason those games made it to Gamespot's coveted "Greatest Games of All Time" List.....cause that's exactly what they are.
And that's not even looking at PC RPGs released in the past 3 years or so like The Witcher or Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines or Neverwinter Nights 2 and Mask of the Betrayer.....or upcoming RPGs like BioWare's Dragon Age, which BioWare themselves have said is their most ambitious project to date.
Though it's true that some of the best RPG's have been on Console....it's also true that a number of the greatest RPGs, especially if you're talking about Western RPGs, have been for PC.
Last, There is no need for a PC to be close to a TV to hook it up....In case you didn't realize many PC peripherals are wireless nowadays, This as just one example of how someone could easily connect their PC to their TV without it needing to be close to the set or even in the same room.
ME will be better no question about it, i say this merely because bioware knows the pc alot better than ubisoft, AC will likely be a crappy port

Let's be economical here, of course you can hook up your pc to a tv, buy a decent game controller (a decent one would cost $20.00) and anything else neccesary but are we really going to do that? I have psychonauts on my PC (steam) but I am not going to spend all that money to get the best experience out of it. As I said before there are a few genres that belong on PC, so this complicates things further, virtually all console to PC ports are pretty much the same as well, though Mass Effect should have better framerate so that's something to look forward to. But yes, in terms of modern day WRPGs PCs are pretty dominant, but that doesn't mean it can only be done right on PCs. The person who I was arguing with seems to think that all games for the PC actually use all 80 keys when in reality they just use 10 or so keys and then they fill up the rest with trivial things (such as turning and walking with the arrow keys, looking with pg up and pg down, etc.).
WRPG's are dominant on PC, thanks for confirming the point. repercometh
