Before someone rips my throat out, let me say I actually enjoyed ME3, despite expecting to hate it because of all the flak it got from gamers, I concluded it's a GOOD game.
Still, I found myself cringing at quite a few silly details and inconsistenciesbig and small I noticed while playing, so I though it'd be fun to play a little game and see if other people can add more reasons why this game is silly, so if you have more, just number them and add them.
SPOILERS AHEAD, don't read if you haven't completed the game. So here goes, in no particular order:
Â
The 25 Reasons why Mass Effect 3 is Silly:
1. Shepard docks on the Citadel for the millionth time in 3 games, meets holographic guide Avina and doesn't know what she is
2. Shepard disables a dangerous cyborg ninja-hacker, then not only do they keep it on board the Normandy, but they store it unguarded in the AI core, which regulates everything on the ship, including life support
3. Shepard mentions the Crucible superweapon to James Vega before Admiral Hackett tells him about it
4. Shepard buys a round of drinks for a bunch of marines... but no money is taken from you
5. Shepard can overhear people's conversations in an extremely loud disco club
6. Vega greets female Shepard with "Hey man!"
7. An ambassador secretly contacts Cerberus and leaves the incriminating conversation audio logs on an unencrypted terminal in his own office
8. Shepard and Jakob take time to shoot the breeze ("tell me about your vacation on the Mediterranean!") despite the base they're in being under attack by Cerberus, who is trying to exterminate a few hundred people, including children, and Shepard's team being the only armed people around
9. Lt. Cortez can be heard boasting about his girlfriends despite being repeatedly established that he's gay
10. Asari temple containing a priceless protean device has a forcefield locking it down, but the unencrypted forcefield ovverride controls are on the outside of the barrier
11. Cerberus ninja Kay Leng is recorded speaking to the Illusive Man by a security camera, which somehow also records the Illusive Man's response through Kay Leng's earpiece
12. Shepard detonates a starfighter inside a pressurized hangar in space. To open a door
13. Cerberus (who has no regard for the lives of their soldiers - the game says so) waits for Shepard to kill all their men before trying to vent the hangar into outer space to kill Shepard
14. When Shepard pilots one of the Atlas mechs, they always have a shattered canopy in the first person view, despite the same canopy being intact from the outside
15. Cerberus stores incredibly top-secret video logs of the Illusive Man's conversations with his scientists (including data on Shepard's reconstruction) on unencrypted consoles pretty much everywhere in their space station, including the hangars and maintenance tunnels
16. EDI (Normandy A.I.) spams Cerberus systems with zettabytesof porn taken from Joker's stash
17. There are medkits on a Geth starship
18. Geth half-holographic character can be seen holding a gun with his holographic hand
19. When killing Kay Leng you can frag him into bloody bits, but in the following cutscene he's still alive and in one piece. Also:
20. No one checks if Kay Leng is really dead before turning their backs to him, giving him a free shot at Shepard
21. Cerberus scientist in a recording speaks with the voice of female Shepard (Jennifer Hale)
22. After his motivational speech on the deck of the Normandy, Admiral Hackett says "Hackett out!" as he does when he's speaking through holocom, but this time he's standing there!
23. Stereotypical red phone booths in London are 15 feet tall
24. Shepard's arm animation in the 'wounded' sequence near the end is hilarious
25. Despite the fact everyone knows the Citadel is a tool of the Reapers they are still using it as the center of all cross-species civilization!
