The 3DO is a misunderstood console. It had many great games and exclusives. One main problem about the 3DO is EA, I mean #DO companies policy of marketing, which you needed to pay a lump su of money. Especially since 3 companies had 3DO branded systems. Which was an odd idea itself. But the library of the 3DO is quite amazing with lots of highly raed games many do not know. In genre's of manys favorites. The libray is better than the 3DO and Saturn library and is the only real alternative to the PSX. THe N64 lacks alot of quality games and it's focus and controller are made so that very few genres could flourish. Also lack of CD based technology. The Saturn library was also just as limited, and the fact it was mostly a 2D machine makes it a sucker compared to the 3DO. Don't believe me? Ask away, it;s the lack of knowledge of the 3DO that has it pined down form being brought up. It has many games you can't get anywhere else and the genreal opinion that mostof its games became ports later is very untrue. very very untrue.

I"ve always wanted a 3DO. I keep hoping I'll come across one in a Goodwill because they'll think it's an old CD or DVD player. Hasn't happened yet, lol.

The library does look pretty good compared to a lot of the more rare consoles around that time. But better than the Saturn? I'm not entirely sure because I don't have a 3DO, but I have looked through the library due to my interest in the console and it does seem like that to me. The games that interest me in the 3DO library were:

Alone in the Dark
Dragon's Lair
Gex (also on Saturn)
Myst
Need For Speed (also on Saturn)
Night Trap
Road Rash (also on Saturn)
Star Control 3
Wing Commander 2
Wolfenstein 3-D

I'm sure there are some 3DO gems I haven't even heard of. But I know that I could come up with a list of Saturn games I enjoy that's much larger than that. The 3DO had even less third-party support than the Saturn did. Where's the long-standing franchises like Castlevania or Mega Man? Where's the licensed games like X-Men or WWF? And at the same time it's not like 3DO was one the same first-party developer level as Sega or Nintendo.

I"ve always wanted a 3DO. I keep hoping I'll come across one in a Goodwill because they'll think it's an old CD or DVD player. Hasn't happened yet, lol.

The 3DO and heck, Even Panasonic threw around many First PArty games. The 3DO has crap tons of third party support. Many long standing franchises, heck you names just a small chunk already. The 3DO has over 300 games, the Saturn had????? 205?

Games that have decent or above praise universally from reviewers and users. More variety more quality, you guys just know nothing about the 3Do because you nver took the time to buy one when it's price dropped.

I'm actually quite familiarized with the 3DO's library

You can play basically all worthwhile 3DO games on the PC. Legally.

There was even a 3DO Blaster for the PC...

I doubt the 3DO blaster would work nowadays (even if you could plug it into your motherboard, something I seriously doubt, though Im not sure what connection it has) , one would need an old computer from 15 years ago for it to work. as for the 3DO having a better library than the Saturn or N64, from my (limited) experience with the console, no way.

Other than maybe 3 games I don't have, I have 27 Shooting games, and they are all listed on Gamespot/Ign/Gamefaqs which I checked each individually to check for missing games. Of that there are 30 3DO shooters and 30 Satrun shooters EXCLUDING imports, because if you use imports that means the Saturn had no games. Which I also have most of, I have 20 Sega Saturn Shooters.

none of those are 3D , all of those are 2D games,

No it's not. If I included imports Saturn would win shooting (well scrolling shooting) and the 3DO would win in almost every other genre due to it's massive amount of Japanese only games.

I like rpgs, shmups, survival horrors, and 2D platformers.....but I'm not familiar with the 3DO lineup....

can you list me the top ten 3DO games for each of those four genres?

Or you don't own a 3Do, never looked up its games, are a troll, and the fact everyon on this thread is making arguments based on limited experiences. Guees that means the N64 is bad then as I only played the top 15 games everyon talked about and only 20 hidden gems. Only 35 games? lol. Your logic fails pretty badly here. I also doubt you know what a watara is so even though it's bad, you still have no valid opinion of it.

No yu said the games were all 2D, and now your saying ballz is 3D so you killed your argument. So is ballz 3D or 2d? You and Rilpas said they were all 2D.

Flashback is the same as the Mega Drive version , just nicer colours and FMVs instead of the real time animations, also some nicer music. its worth getting on the 3DO , but its not that massive an upgrade.

1) I asked for ten in each genre, and because you couldn't manage that, you gave me 3 or 4 some of which aren't even in their proper genre

2) I said Myst wasn't survival horror. Also, its one PSX & SAT so its really not an example that's helping you much here.

3) Flashback IS the same game as the Genesis.
