I've always tended toward third person. I did the quake 2 thing for a few years, but I stopped Metroid after Super Metroid simply since Prime was FPS. It's just not the same experience. I love shooters like Rez, Super Contra III, Forgotten Realms, Panzer Dragoon Orta, all of which are third person. If I want FPS, I just play halo or Quake.

I dont mind whichever it is. Just as long as I can have more enjoyment than frustration, then i'm happy with it.

I like them both pretty much the same so I can't say that I have a preference. FPS are great because you can see the whole screen but TPS are great because it's much easier to have a "shoot from cover" element in the game.

First person mostly. I do play 3rd person games every once in a while though to mix it up.

Agreed.

I, overall, prefer first person shooters, but it kind of depends on my mood sometimes.

First Person Shooters, even though gears of war's gameplay with a third person perspective was great.

Both. A game like Gears woundn't be as appealing as an FPS and it just woundn't work with the cover system obviously. Halo wouldn't feel right as a TPS either.

Most of the time in TP you can 'peek' around corners or whatever without actually revealing yourself which is useful.

Depends. Usually, the chars in first person shooters have less mobility, but environments tend to be more interactive.

I love both, but if I had to go with just one it would be FPS.
