Another viewtiful Joe, this one with everything that made the first two games great; unlockable characters, level select, Chambers of Viewtiful. The first one is still one of my favorite side scrolling games ever. Also, a new 2D Metroid (or 2.5 D, as long as its side scrolling) that has the openness of Super Metroid, and another Metroidvania game with the quality of the DS and GBA games.
Those would all rock hard, especially if Metroid and Castlevania came to the DS. I think Viewtiful Joe is better on consoles; Double Trouble was solid but nowhere near as good as 1 or 2.
Fallout 4 would be top of my list.
Although, I'm still waiting for someone to make an open world Private Eye RPG set in the 1930s, in a Film Noir style, where you can take on new side cases and level up your skills while trying to unravel the mystery of the main plot.
I really want to know what Rocksteady are working on. Arkham Asylum was great, but Arkham City just blew its predecessor straight out of the water in every single aspect it could. It was THE masterpiece of last gen in my eyes. It went far beyond the expectations I'd hold for any one game. My eyes are on them.
I'm also extremely interested in seeing the direction the next Metroid takes. When that series hits a high point, it's pretty much the best a game can be.
@Pikminmaniac: I don't think there's any way Rocksteady can make the next arkham game (or whatever they decide to call it) as improved over City like City was on Asylum. Basically, all City was was ironing out the wrinkles in the combat and adding a few more devices. I don't think the next game will be a huge step up in quality, but hey, you never know.
Also, I'm glad to see quite a few other people here saying they want another 2D Metroid. Here's hoping.
Definitely Gears of War 4 would be at the top of my list closely followed by Lost Odyssey 2, Blue Dragon 2, and a new Chrono game.

I'm not even going to lie, I consider Viewtiful Joe one of the top ten best games ever made. That game was just pure magic. You only get a game like that once every generation at best. Capcom is hurting for money so bad, I swear they could just release a few of these games digitally on new platforms and make easy money. Hell, I'd buy and download Viewtiful Joe on other peoples systems, just to make a point.
My own answer is the same as always.
Shenmue 3.
BELIEVE.
The Hobbit game - playing different missions with different characters like Thorin,Bilbo,Gandalf,Legolas,Tauriel and Bard just like The Lord of the Rings back on PS2.
Red Dead 3

Bully 2
Manhunt 3
DMC 2
Final Fantasy VIII-2
Final Fantasy IX-2
Final Fantasy X-3
New 2D Oddworld Game
@Randolph: Not sure if it is in my top ten (haven't thought about that honestly; I have an all time favorite game but apart from that I haven't really "ranked" anything) but yeah VJ is just an absolutely kick ass game. It's funny, the visuals are amazing, the soundtrack is goofy as is the voice acting and the gameplay is beat em up Nirvana. Plus, it actually gave you an incentive for playing on the higher difficulties, which is something I rarely do in a game. I still need to unlock Captain Blue, though... I've gotten the final form of the final boss down to its last bar and died and lost all my lives... Ugh, so frustrating but at the same time it's an awesome game. Best part is that I bought it for seven bucks years ago; talk about a steal!
@gpuFX16: No joke. A 2D Metroid is badly needed and would sell like crazy. Plus it'd probably be a great ROI for Nintendo as development costs would be much less than a console.
I'm expecting one this year. I can't believe Nintendo doesn't have one in the works at the very least. Hell, Reggie was wearing a Metroid pin on his lapel at the VGX showing.
@Pikminmaniac: from what I've heard, they're working on another Batman game but not set in the Arkham universe. Based on the really early days of the comics or something.
I'd be fine with this but in all honesty want to see what else they're capable of. It'd be a bit of a waste to do Batman again.

It just needs to happen. It's always been a series of excellent exploration gameplay, and it works awesome on a portable as Fusion and Zero Mission proved. There's so much potential for a sidescroller on the 3DS, but sadly, nothing yet. I know Metroid doesn't have the wide appeal of Mario or Zelda, but they are just games of too high a quality to be forgotten.
@pyratrum: Mercs 3 was the reason I clicked on this thread. I played Mercs 2 first, so when I played PofD, it was just kinda 'meh.' The stockpile was far and away a better system than the buy-to-use method the first game went with. i was a member of the Pandemic community when they got shut down and I was always disappointed that Project X and Project Y(which would likely have ended up being Mercenaries Inc and Mercenaries 3: No Limits) were never officially announced. I figure since Battlefront 3 was just announced for next gen systems, that Mercs is due, too.
My only other hope is that WHEN Mercs 3 is finally announced that it will have a 3DS counterpart, because God damn it, it's high time for an open world handheld game.
the last guardian would be nice. i got pissed at nintendo for delaying twilight princess a generation to stir up wii sales (under the weak disguise of "gameplay improvements"), but i don't think that would be the point here. team ico is clearly having some technical problems and stronger hardware is likely the solution. plus i'd just like that game finally be released.
for that matter, i'd like to see ueda's next game. it sounds like he's just waiting for TLG to be finished before officially leaving sony. i'd like to see what he plans on doing now.
also, whatever playdead is working on. there hasn't been any news on their new game in so long that PS3 and 360 are still the official console platforms.
Super Ultra Resident Evil 4 Hyper Arcade Edition - Gold. In this version Ashley's boobs have been inflated to the size FF.
Honest answer - Shenmue and Yakuza
