I know Gamstop most likely does not carry these anymore, so i was wondering where would be a good place to find PS1 games. i would like to stay away from sites like Amazon and Ebay mainly because these most of these are collections and I really am looking for individual games, plus it's a pain to pay for shipping and having to wait for it.

Funny, when I go to Amazon or Half.com, I can find just about any individual game that I want. The only time I really find whole collections packaged together are when somebody is selling the system+all of the games. I don't know what kind of search strings you are using to try to locate your games, but I can promise you that they are there and as individual games.

As far as shipping, it's only a couple of days. If you buy from a reputable seller (one with a lot of positive feedback), there is really hardly any risk involved. They ship quickly, and as a rule of thumb, depending on where it came from, I have my game within 3-5 business days. On half.com, media mail shipping is only like $3.50 or so. That + the cost of the game has ALWAYS been cheaper than buying it at Gamestop. They're always packaged well, so there is no damage in shipping. Plus, every game I've bought online has been in pristine condition-far better than I can say for the games I've bought at Gamestop/EB.

Cheap prices, cheap and well packed shipping, much wider selection, and games in great condition...buying online is really the way to go, ESPECIALLY for old games that you just can't locate in stores anymore. I know this sounds like a big commercial, but you just seemed to have a lot of misinformation about online shopping that I thought I'd put my $.02 in.

I've been getting a lot of them from the online game trading site goozex. Sometimes you have to be a little patient to get the game you want, I've gotten a ton of great ps1 games there though. There is a link in my sig if you're interested.

If your willing to travel there, there's some really old school game-stores in Texas, they sell games as old as Atari right upto PS3. I don't know what the stores are called exactly, but I know if you find them, you'll be happy :D

Even if you want to stay away from Ebay, you can find ANY PS1 game on there....just saying.

I remember in the Candid Collector's Union, there was some sort of store tracker that showed old school game shops or something. Go check there.

Don't know if this helps the OP, but for anyone looking for retro gaming in Kansas or Illinois, here's where you should go:

Kansas: Game Nutt in Lawrence, KS (the KU college town just about 30 miles outside KC). It's on 8th and Massachusetts downtown, real easy to find. This guy has absolutely EVERYTHING and incredible prices.

Illinois (Chicago): A recent store opened called People Play Games, on Clark St, just South of School or just North of Belmont/Clark (right by Chicago comics). This guy also has a huge collection and although his prices are a little high, he's definitely better than eBay and the best balance of convenience and price.

Unfortunately the flea market in my area isn't what it used to be. It closed and reopened months later and all the good vendors left for other locals.

Now the people that are there always have the same old, beat games that are all faded from the sun because they think they are worth a lot more than they really are. I mean who is going to pay $15 for something like Max Payne? It used to be really cool though.

I always buy used game off of ebay. I never really have any problem and usually get the game I want in about a week. So, I don't see any problem with buying on ebay and waiting.
