So I was thinking, in Batman Arkham City you could pay your respects to Bruce Wayne's mother and father in the alley where there was those chalk outlines of them...

My idea was do you think in Arkham Knight there will be a place Batman can pay his respects to the Joker? Perhaps where Joker died in his arms? Since we all know Batman never wanted Joker to die. They needed each other, and I believe Joker's death with effect Batman mentally all throughout out Arkham Knight. He will probably be depressed and add in the fact that Scarecrow is back with his fear gas....one might guess Batman might hallucinate seeing the Joker or even reliving Joker's death...

So could you see there being a place where Batman takes a moment to remember the Joker and "pay his respects"? Also I believe Batman will die at the end of Arkham Knight. One cannot live without the other. This is Rocksteady's conclusion to the Arkham games. If Joker dies, so must Batman.

nah i don't think batman will die in a game, maybe break his back or leg or something.. then robin or nightwing will be in the next game fighting crime. or maybe Deathstroke since someone let him out for a mission in Arkham Origins ending(credit scene)

@blamix99: Origins is NOT made by Rocksteady that junk was made by Warner Bros. It is NOT part of the Arkham games only Asylum, City and now Knight. Also Origins is before the other 3. So him randomly popping in after 2 games of him not being in wouldn't make any sense. Even though we know Warner Bros will make more "Arkham" junk games who really cares what they're about.

@Master_Of_Fools

I hate his personality and his attitude. Also hat the dark depressing atmosphere suroundind most of Batman fiction.... Damn do I love the gameplay in Arkham Games.... Infact if you just take Naruto's facade and put in Arkham Origin's gameplay then that would be the ultimate Nerdvana !

I don't really care to see the impact of the Joker's death on Batman so much as I do the impact of Bruce's parents death and the formative effect it had of the rest of him throughout the years. I hope in one of Scarecrows confrontations we actually get to play out young Bruce, Thomas, and Martha walking out of the theatre and having him watch them getting gunned down in front of him. Like, fully played out and shown with heavy emotional impact. Just as it was shown in Burton's film, but something with emotional impact that could really covey his loss and show the catalyst that led to his transformation (similar to TLoU's prolouge). Batman wouldn't exist without this huge event, and it needs to be heavily focused on and put weight on.

@MirkoS77: But you still have to think about what the Joker meant to Batman as well. Yes, his parents' death was the catalyst, but the Joker was his fuel. Joker embodied everything Batman wanted to fix. With him gone, maybe Batman might start questioning his role as protector of Gotham. Then again, Harley Quinn might continue to make Joker's presence felt. You never know.

That being the case though, to focus on the loss of Batman's incentive to go out and continue to fight crime would not really benefit the game from a narrative/motivational/gameplay standpoint. Batman and Joker were different sides of the same coin. Joker did define Batman, but not as much as his parent's death did at such an age and I think that experience would override any doubts or reservations Bats would have brought on by Joker's absence about continuing his crusade against the injustice that birthed him. As vital a character as he was, I don't think the Joker's death would negate such a hefty burden of his parent's death.

But you're right, you never know. I'll be interesting to see how Rocksteady handles this.

That's just blatantly wrong, and ignorant to assume. Warner Brothers Montreal and Rocksteady are just developers who happen to develop games in the same franchise I cannot remember where, but I am pretty sure I have heard Rocksteady employees refer to Origins as part of the Arkham franchise and I would believe them first over you.

Yup. The fans are right, and the people who created it are wrong. Key example of whats wrong with fanboys, I mean gamers everywhere. Most people I talked to have said Origins was pretty much copy and paste from Arkham City. If I am to believe the masses, and believe you.. then Arkham City is shit as well? I wasn't a big fan of killing Joker at the end, but I found City to be enjoyable. Don't really have the time anymore to play Origins, but I'm guessing Copy&Paste would be similar.

I don't see the need to use the Joker's death as a plot device. Arkham Knight looks to be a good enough antagonist.
