About the 'violent gaming case'

Am I correct in thinking that the only thing these guys want changed is that the rating label should be larger?? Isn't there already a law against selling to minors? I'm not american btw

No theres no law against selling any game to a minor. ESRB is currently a "suggestion" and not a federal law. Its up to distributors to decide how far they want to enforce it.

Law makers want to make ESRB into federal laws. Theres upsides and downsides to it, but for the most part there are more downsides than upsides to this.

most places i go....they card you....but....like he said thats up to the retailer....but i had to show my id well into my junior year of university before they stopped asking....and thats only because the owner knows me.....which is weird cause everywhere else people always guess my age to be 5 over

He's right in the fact that it depends on the distributor. However, most of the time, if a minor comes in with a person over the age of 17, they can still purchase the game. Parental consent is the name of the game.

some games I don't understand why they put m ratings. Makes it seem a whole lot more violent than t rated games. Like, games like mw2, I don't really understand why it's m rated to be honest. You don't blow heads off, not much blood at all, the only difference between it and other fps is that it has better graphics and is more realistic.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was rated M because of the theme it bore. War is somewhat a touchy subject and it's reflected quite well in the CoD series. Also, the airport scene was a bit controversial due to terrorism.
