Why oh why do so many people NOT get that really concept?

Really, seriously?

And what do you prefer? Someone yapping annoying *'?!"@ over the game all the time with a voice moreannoying than a Rebecca Black Weekend on radio or a Walkthrough where you fully can enjoy the sound and music and atmosphere of a game?

Well, I guess I don't have to answer anymore what I prefer, do I? ^^

most of those kinda help people that are stuck on a game. to watch them just to watch them is stupid

I prefer the LP for the commentary. Whether the guy doing it is trying to be funny or not, it's better than watching in silence. :P

I don't watch many LPs, but I will mention the rather enjoyable LP Persona 3 FES by natearistata on Youtube.

Helpful tips are great, but if the guy is just prattling on and on, telling you a bunch of totally inane and pointless junk then obviously it gets annoying.

I prefer Let's Plays, as you can tell by the link in my sig. If I want a proper walk through then I'll search for it.

Besides, when I watch a Let's Play, Im doiing it for the commentary, not the game.

To answer your question i dont like people talking over a game. If i went through the trouble of looking up the game then all i want to see & hear is the game itself. I dont go looking for commentaries. I actually think the whole concept of gaming & commentaries is absolutely dumb yet they're in every corner on youtube

I find it to be stupid to just watch the video of a game and hear only the game when you can just play the game, and get the better effect of playing the game.

The commentaries can be good and bring more life to watching game.

I prefer LP but watch walkthrough mostly by skipping the stale part (long exploration without nothing major happen).

I watch LP only if the commentator is good at commenting. They would talk about the game feature, pointed out the good and flaw then expanding the topic into interesting opinion and even led to more interesting topic. Sadly, very few of them are actually that good. Most of LP are really bad. Plagued by annoying voice, rambling about this and that sucks without saying reasons to back it up, yelling profanities as they fight or proudly saying lines they think badass but actually make them look dumb.

I prefer LPs, although I'm pretty selective about LPers. Hearing other people's reactions to things that suprised/irritated me in games can be entertaining at times. Don't have much interest in walkthroughs though.I'd rather play the game myself.

Thank you guys for showing that there are other people out there who see this from my point of view ^^

And so far I have NEVER EVER seen ANY Let's Play where the guy yapping ISN'T yapping all the time about pointless stuff like "Oh here I got a sword. I press X. I Equip that Sword by pressing X again. Now I press Circle to leave the menu. Now I press the left analogue stick up so my character walks upwards....." and so on followed and interrupted by a vast count of "uhm...err...oohh...aahh..." as mentioned above, and, my alltime "favorite": "HELLO AGAIN HERE WE ARE FOR PART XYZ OF MY ABC LP!!!" (and yeah, some guys indeed do it in front of EVERY part of their LP, even if it's 123 videos and they start all of them YELLING this sentence in my face -_-).

Ah hell it was good to let off some vent and steam about that ^^

And actually I just wanted to say that way too many people confuse Walkthrough with Let's Play, I've seen so many Vid series which are labeled Walkthrough and the guy in it is STILL yapping like no tomorrow :/

And about that "I need commentary so I can be helped", jeez, is mimic what you seereally that hard? :/
