I have been coming to this site for 6 years and I have really enjoyed it. Gamespot has always had great people working for them. I may not have always agreed with his reviews (Twilight Princess) but Jeff loved video games, loved writing about them, and loved his job. What has happenedned to him is a disgrace to the industry and a debacle of epic proportions.
Money makes the world go 'round I get it. I am not naiive. Everyone needs it to survive and prosper in a capitalist society. What these short-sighted-corporate automaton-got a college degree but don't know jack about video games-money grubbing-bottom line humping-think out of the boxing-market researching-business strategizing imbiciles don't realize is that you can't fire a free thinking and dedicated journalist because he ruffled your sponsor's feathers and expect there not to be a giant back-lash from a community like this one. We are Gamers. We are different. We buck the status quo and subvert that dominant **** paradigm.
I am behind you Jeff, speak your mind always. If we let this stand as a community we can kiss the credibility of every gaming site good bye. If companies see that they can manipulate scores by leaning on a gaming site then what the hell is the point of reviewing games. Why not make the review part of your ad campaign? $2 million for a 7.0, $10 million for a 9.5. I am boycotting Eidos and Cnet. Josh Larson you are spineless and don't give a crap about games or this community, just your paycheck.
Keep it real everyone and I'll see you on the battlefields and gridirons and pitches and sandy beaches of the games we love.
