We all love the GBA, some of us a bit too much.

Thought we could use a thread where we all add 1 GBA game to show off some of its best games.

No SNES ports(Mario, Zelda, DKC), just original GBA games.

My all time favorite GBA game is... Wario Land 4.

Wario+Land+4.jpgwario_land_4-160229-1.jpeg

This game is platforming perfection and one of my all time favorite games. The level design and music are top notch. The WTF creepy bosses, the strange CDs, that ghost key, and Wario's Car...all make add some charm and wierdness to the game. The only flaw is that the graphics are not really GBA level and Wario's sprites are terrible looking.

Metroid: Fusion

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/45/Metroid_Fusion_box.jpg/250px-Metroid_Fusion_box.jpghttp://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jrHwoyE6Vlk/UB_nmAszCEI/AAAAAAAABpQ/1mXfbEuRqpY/s400/Metroid%2BFusion%2Bscreen%2Bshot.png

The direct sequel to Super Metroid. The events take place directly after Super Metroid. And the gameplay is very similar, as well, with a little more story-elements than Super Metroid had. Not quite as good as Super Metroid, IMO, but a very worthy successor. This also spawned the awesome remake of the original Metroid game, Metroid: Zero Mission, which is also excellent and one of the greatest game remakes ever made.

I don't like purchasing used off amazon since they show no pictures like ebay. Can't tell If I'm getting a cart with a torn label or not...

Next on my list for GBA games to play. How is it on the difficulty side? Might bring it on a certain road trip and I don't want to be needing to use a guide/whatever at all.

I'd rate this average difficulty.  The puzzles are a lot easier than in the second game so you probably won't need a guide unless you want to get 100% djinns.  The Lost Age (sequel) is definitely a step up in challenge and exploration, which makes it better.  Overall both games can easily be among the top GBA titles.

The GBA got a lot of lumps in its library in terms of quality. But of the few great games they are quite remarkable. I believe my main main up top with Wario Land 4 has a good taste. Wario Land 4 is one of those few great GBA games.

I can't argue with the Pokemon fever that went through Portugal back in the time so I'll have to go with Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green and Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

That may be, now. But when this game came out, Other M didn't exist and wouldn't for many years. That's a retcon.

That looks like a lot more fun than the full-fledged console releases, from the the screenshots. It looks like a cross between Metal Slug and Commando.

My favorite GBA games, in no order, are:

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga

Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 (never played the original for the SNES)

WarioWare Inc.: Mega MicroGame$

The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap

The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past (never played the original for the SNES either)

If I had to pick a more obscure one that probably hasn't been mentioned yet (I haven't seen it crop up yet, I skimmed), I'd actually say that Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team was really enjoyable. These games really got kicked under the bus, but I thought that in spite of claims that they were essentially "Pokemon-ified Mystery Dungeon games" (for those who don't know, Mystery Dungeon was a pre-existing game series), they were still very fun and probably the most interesting of all Pokemon games to breakaway from the handheld formula. I've played Gale of Darkness and Ranger and such, and Mystery Dungeon still tops them.

Gamespot and other reviews always rip the Mystery Dungeon games a new one, but I think they are just OK. They get pretty boring after a while though, not enough variety. The binding of Isaac on PC has a similar style of random dungeon gameplay and NEVER gets old. Can't think of the name for the genre of these games....

Me either, BUT I've enjoyed it a lot. I've always compared Mystery Dungeon to the PC dungeon series "Fate" which was pretty awesome. I liked both for a few specific and different reasons but they were both cool; and while Red Rescue Team wasn't the "greatest GBA game of all time" I still think it's noteworthy! Just thought I'd mention it. :)

"MoH Infiltrator" is an awesome game, for those considering it, DO IT. Seriously, it rocks. There are even shooter bits like turret levels which break up the Commando-like main levels nicely...

Here's a fun game that came late in the GBA's life(2 years after the DS was out). It's a nice mix of beat em' up/fighting.

It was a really fun game. I don't think it's pricey at all either for anyone interested.
