Am I the only one with an SDTV to play games on?

I have a 20 inch SDTV with its screen slowly dying. I play my 360, Wii, everything on it.

I would love to have an HDTV. My parents said if I get a B average then I can get like a 15-30 inch HDTV, though I should put in some money to get like a 40 inch...

When people ask how many people here have HDTVs, 90% of the people have one... NO ONE I know in real life has one, I wonder how you guys get 2000 dollars so easily

I'm willing to bet that most people haven't made the jump to HDTV...I know I haven't. I'm in no hurry to switch to HDTV.

You're not the only one. I got my HDTV when I got my first job a year ago. Out of all the people I know I'm one of three who have one. I think most people get one when their old one breaks. But I think here where a lot of people are very dedicated gamers they want a display that shows them what their new machines can do.

Besides, if you go for 32" or less, $2000 will get you a good HDTV, but you can get one for far less. The cheapest 32" one I've seen where I live (Sweden) is about $1000 and we have a 25% VAT included in our prices.

I just got an HDTV a few months ago but I'd be willing to bet we are the minority. I'd say, just a guess here, only 30% have HDTVs.

PS- I got a visio 32" 1080i/720p for 499$ at walmart/sams club.

The only reason I made the jump was that 1 day into getting my 360 my SDTV blew up on me LOL As for spending $2000 on a HDTV stop right there I got mine for about $1200 (£699) it's 32" and it really makes a diffrence ....

All i'm gonna say is that once you have one you can't go back. You guys sound like your a little younger, and thats cool. Just enjoy the games and when you can get one... get one. Til then, don't stress about it.You won't be missing what you don't have. When I was a kid I didn't even have the option. LOL.

That's true. You can find them for much cheaper. 32" for $600-$700.

Nope. It you, me and about 85-90% of the gaming market that are still gaming on SDTV's. HDTV's won't make majority penetration of the market until at least 2010-2012... ironically around the time the next consoles are released, thus making HD this gen useless.
