am i the only silent hill fan that thinks

silent hill 2 is the worst in the series. its true i havent beaten it but i have played about 1/3rd through and its really boring. i started plaing the original,beat shattered memories almost beat 4 havent played 3 or homecoming and origins was decent. what is so good about 2 that makes it comparable to 3 or 1

Having not finished it, you haven't reached the point in the storyline where everything falls perfectly into place. Every scene, line of dialogue, demon design, location and note all come together with the reveal. It's when a normal horror game becomes a work of art. Something the other games in the series didn't quite reach, as good as many of them were.

If you're playing only for jump scares, it's obvious why you may be disappointed with it. Silent Hill 2 is much more subdued and metaphorical than the others. The sense of dread comes from what you don't see, not what you do.

It does get a lot better, but it's probably my least fav of the series. That's not saying much though, it's still a really awesome game.

I think the first one is the best one.

Definitely keep playing, the game will be much more enjoyable once all of the characters have been introduced. The apartments section is the worst part of the game, so if you just finished that part don't worry, it gets much much better from there on out. After you complete the game you'll probably want to replay it a few times to get a full understanding on the story, symbolism, and imagery.

Its truly a work of art that only really reveals itself towards the end. The game stayed in my mind for months after I beat the game. I haven't played or watched anything that was able to play with my psyche that much ever in my life.
