Do you think any game will get a 10/10 from GameSpot or IGN this year? They seem to have gotten tougher with grading (especially GameSpot), but I still think Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception or Battlefield 3 have a chance of pulling off a 10. I think Skyrim will get a 9.0-9.5 (It'd be awesome if it got a 10, just unlikely), and Modern Warfare 3 will probably get a 9.0-9.5 as well, because Call of Duty games always score well.

What do you think?

I think Dark Souls, Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3 and Arkham City all have a shot. They are follow-ups to great games that look to be better than the games that preceded them. Dark Souls may end up being too hard to score well, but Demon's Souls was a critical darling, so who knows.

GTA4 should never have been a ten, I liked that game, but never a ten. I'll be happy if theres no more tens, lets leave the publishers believing theres always room for improvement.

With all the big blockbuster titles coming out I am going to be really surprised if one doesn't get a 10.

No idea which one that could be.

System Wars will go crazy no matter who it is :P

A ten doesn't always represent a perfect game but one's who cons are far outshadowed by all the things they do right. If you have some amazing compelling experience but there are some slight texture pop outs once every other hour then there's no reason to let something like that drag the score down.

Not only that, but it makes sense that a game can score a 10 if you've got a 0-10 scale. Otherwise, it might as well be a 0-9.5 scale. I think there are plenty of games out there that are good enough to score a 10 if you don't count 10 as perfect, but merely exceptional.

So once they score a ten, they just follow that blue print? Not for me, no more tens. I want them pushing the limits all the way.

What baout 9.5s? A 10 is very unlikely now a days...we got lucky with Super Mario Galaxy 2 but so far this year has had a lot of 9's and not many 9.5s. :? I think I can see many games getting 9-10s though. :P

Uncharted 3- 9.5

Skyrim- 9.5-10

Deus Ex: Human Revolution- 9-9.5

Battlefield 3- 9

Arkahm City- 9-9.5

Gears of War 3- 9

Skyward Sword- 8.5-9

Modern Warfare 3- 7-9 (I'm hoping GameSpot wil realize this is the same game since Call of Duty 4. Yeah sure it was a winning formula but now it just keeps getting reused over and over again and you keep paying for THE SAME @#$%ING GAME. Yeah a winnning formula that is now becoming fomulaic. )

Here are games that I don't think will get 9s or 10s but will be getting good scores.

Assassin's Creed Revelations- 8.5

Saints Row: The Third- 8.5

Rage- 8-8.5

Dead Island- 8-8.5

Resisatance 3- 8.5

Of course scores are purely cosmetics and it really doesn't matter what score these games get because we have our own opinions about the game. :) Still though, this year looks to be a very solid year in gaming anyway you look at it. :D

If Diablo 3 is released this year (which I doubt), it will probably score fairly high. Anywhere between 8 and 10.

Maybe Skyrim will, but that's about it. Unless U3 gets crazy new things in it I see it getting a 9. Deus Ex will probably get between 8.5 and 9. BF3 probably same as Deus Ex, but possibly a higher score on PC. R3 I can see getting an 8.5 or 9 depending on what's added/improved. Twisted Metal probably an 8.5. Well regardless I'd rather have a .5 or point taken off then just giving out 10s like they seemed to be doing for a while. Oh, and Dark Souls wil probably get between an 8.5 and 9 simply because the main wow value of Demon's Souls has worn off by now.

Probably Uncharted 3, given the hype of the last game...

there are lots of good games yet to come this year, but im not expecting any of them to get 10's here. demon's souls had its difficulty as a negative even though i dont believe "cheap" was ever mentioned. with dark souls coming out and supposedly being even harder, from software could conceivably tune the hell out of it and still not get a 10. skyrim will likely be received well mostly everywhere, but im wondering if the AI will stick out more this time (gameplay previews show some quirks in the AI for stealth players). im thinking that might be the sort of thing that keeps it away from a 10 here. it might get the 10 at ign because their scores tend to be a bit higher.

Well yeah, I mean there are around 5 games coming out that I'm looking forward to which I almost know will get 9.5s. Judging by how amazing Battlefield has been, and how amazing I believe Battlefield 3 will be, I think it's going to get a 9.5 AT LEAST.

I think the only 10 that might happen is Skyrim. That game pushed the envelop on almost every level and I sincerely believe that it may join the perfect game club.

I don't think any will get 10s this year, though many will get 8-9.5. But I'm thinking COD will get an 8 or lower, its just gotten stagnant. If pokemon can get a 7.5, then its high time COD got a lower score. Besides that, I think Drake's Deception has a better chance of getting a 10 than Battlefield (has a FPS ever score a 10? No sarcasm intended.) I think a few other games that are below people's radar will score fairly high like Stronghold 3, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Super Mario Land 3D, etc.

GS will probably drown in a storm of hate messages if BF3 doesn't get a 10 :P Although I disagree with any game getting a 10 (most of the games on this site with a 10 have a decent amount of flaws which I could name off the bat) Arkham City might deserve it. And I would personally like gears 3 to get a 9.5 if not a 10.

Simple answer: No.Elann2008

Exactly. I have a good feeling that most of these games will be in the between the 8.0-9.0 rankings, but not 10. If I remember correctly, some of the previous ES games got high scores, but not 10s. Simply put, when they first came out, they carried plenty of bugs and glitches that needed to be fixed. I would not be surprised if Skyrim came out with glowing reviews, but not with perfect scores if the game also succumbed to glitches and bugs of its own and probably won't be fixed until the next patch or two.

Also, I know this is for future games coming out, but I do remember IGN giving the Virtual Console version of Chrono Trigger a 10 out of 10. They made the right call. In my opinion, Chrono Trigger is the best role-playing game out there today. At least for me it is! :P

No game should EVER get a 10, there's ALWAYS room for improvement
