First Samus, then Aya, now Lara. Did anyone read psm's latest about the new 'vulnerable' Lara? Who's left now?

Zelda.
They must make her slutty.
Didn't finish the second game, but last I checked, Rayne (of Blood Rayne) was still chopping up dudes and letting loose badass and sarcastic one-liners. Wonder if that'll change in 3?
I like the new Lara. Looking forward to the new Tomb Raider game. I was getting sick and tired of the old cartoony, barbie-doll Tomb Raider. And most of the Tomb Raider games were mediocre and cash-in's. I'm glad they decided not to milk the old Lara Craft and give gamers something new and fresh. Elann2008This.

Agreed. I would also say to the TC how about not making snap judgements before the game is even released. Lara never came across as particularly human in past Tomb Raider games. Nothing wrong with trying to expand on her personality instead of her *ahem* other assets.

I'll be quite honest with this, but I never sat down and played Tomb Raider games in their fullest, only read about it with passing interest in mind. But in this case, I'm inclined to give this new one a shot. For me, I look at vunerability in anyone, because I think that's part of the reason why it's some of their best work, whether it be movies, games, or music. It's the same thing here; I'd like to think that by giving her a new look, it will strengthen Tomb Raider as a series, in terms of not just her look, but her storyline and presentation as well. I just hope they succeed in accomplishing this, but if they didn't, hey, at least they tried and that's good enough for me.
This.Agreed. Lara was a sterotypical cliche and after awhile it wasn't even about the game but the charatcers sex appeal.[QUOTE="Elann2008"]I like the new Lara. At first I thought you were making fun of Link. When I was little I really did thought Link was a girl, and pretty. :P

You know what i think? i think you guys don't know what you want, and you don't know what you;re saying.
Nobody ruined anything.
Samus was not ruined.
I'd like to see her more human.
Lara Croft is fine, she's more real now.
About time Lara Croft went back to the original way she was written back in 1995, before Eidos pushed to turn her into a melon-chested vixen. She may finally become an interesting character.
I bet monolith will ruin no lives forever and cate archer if it makes a return, since it's been an eternity since the last one
Samus and Lara (I don't know who's Aya) are as shallow and 2-dimensional as they come. There was nothing to ruin in the first place.
After reading the article in Game Informer about the new direction for Lara, I'm rather excited to see how it pans out.muthsera666Great minds think alike :D
[QUOTE="JediXMan7"]Because Samus was seen by most people as being tough and hardened, and Other M basically made her seem fragile and well... girly...How was Samus ruined?

That's being too fair on what they did to Samus. Samus in Other M is the videogame variant of Bella from Twilligt, awful characters in everyway.

It's called interpretation. When someone else gives another company a chance to create their own spin to a series like Metroid, that's what they go with. No harm, no foul.

That in and of itself sounds like a great place for a story to take place. Combining it with interaction in the environment in a manner never before seen in the series or others.
