You know those games I'm talking about. The kind that you still love and don't want to get rid of, yet for some reason, makes you disappointed or hate it when you play them.

Mine currently is SoulCalibur Broken Destiny. I was so excited when I heard this game would come to the PSP. Knowing how much I love Tekken DR, I expected Namco-Bandai to hit another grand slam with this one.

But it didn't meet my expectation like I wanted it to. I mean, I still love the game and it is an amazing scaled down version of SoulCalibur IV. But it's missing a lot of single player features. For example, there's no Arcade mode (which is strange) and there are no story modes. Sure, these things don't matter too much because afterall, games like these are meant for competitive play. But does it hurt to add something for PSP owners, especially since it doesn't have online play? I would've gladly waited a couple more months if these features were included in. The story mode didn't even have to have any CGs or a elaborate narrative. Just beautifully drawn illustrations would've been just fine with me. Just something that gives this game more value.

I still can't help but to wonder why Namco-Bandai took these out, especially with Kratos in it, I wanted at least a narrative or little story on how Kratos came across fighting SC characters. Right now, I hate to say it but Kratos is just a gimmick. A very good gimmick and a awesome one at that...but, I wanted his SC debut to have a little more meat than just being bones.

Anyway, that's mine. Anyone else care to share?

The last game that made me feel that way was Fallout 3. It was just rough around the edges and took way too much of my time.... but I really enjoyed the amount of gameplay it had to offer.

RSV2, the game can be really fun, and then it just pisses you off.

I try to just go play a few matches online and it takes 10 minutes to get into one.

Probably Metal Gear Solid 2. I really liked playing it but I couldn't handle the story. I've softened on that a bit though since playing 4 as I feel that game gave me a better handle on what happened in 2. Another one is GTAIV. So many things to both like and dislike about that game.

Yoshi's Island DS. It's a good game, but very dissapointing when compared to the original Yoshi's Island.

I friggen love SC IV, but the PSP version seriously has no arcade mode? And I thought the lack of traditional survival and time attack modes in the PS3/360 versions were bad. anyways... Operation Darkness. It's a great game. Finally there's a good SRPG on the 360 and a very underrated one at that. It's fun, but plagued by problems that most SRPGs probably wouldn't have: -You can't save your game in the middle of a battle and they can drag on forever, so be prepared to sit on your ass for a long time. -There are occasionally mines on the ground. This wouldn't be a problem if they were a little more noticable or if there weren't so many damn grid tiles. -Enemy reinforcements always come at the worst moment. -You can't cancel certain actions like moving (to test attack range or something. anyone who's played Fire Emblem will get what I mean) -You have A TON of essential story characters under your control at one time. If any of these 8 or so characters die, you lose.

For me that would be Operation Darkness. IMO it's the the most overlooked and underrated game on the 360. The game has a great quirky cheeseball story that combines actual WW2 history with the occult and the completely absurd. The turn-based strategy/roleplaying element is fun and addictive. However, the game frustrates me in that you can be doing really well, but then suddenly a tank runs over one of your main characters and it's game over, restart the mission.

MLB 2K7 -- I'm such a huge baseball fan I loved having any chance to experience it, but the game is so broken in so many aspects (most especially the ridiculous percentage of home runs and the ridiculous percentage of wall-climb catches) that it was always a weird mix of love/hate to play it.

For me it'd have to be SKATE. I could see the potential of that game but just couldn't get good enough at it. A lot of the moves were so similar on the analog stick and it drove me nuts. A game I truly loved and hated.
