1st of all, I bought a Madden game at Gamestop for .99 cents, so I know they probably only gave the guy .25-.50 cents. Sports games lose MAJOR value since the teams change year to year, aging them fast. The Yearly updated games kill the older games dramatically.
Secondly, I noticed from my Trade ins that GS seems to give 25% to 50% what they sell it for, in general. So if they buy a game for $5, they probably sell it for $20. It's all good, that's how they make their money, because we know they aren't going to sell out of EVERY GAME they ever bought. That's the way it plays out. If they buy a Gears of War for $35, and sell it for $25 a year later, they lose money, so it's a numbers game.
