There are so many games I could list, I will try to give you a verity of different type of games.
Streets of Rage 2 (best beat em up of all time)
Toejam and Earl ( probably the best co-op game on Genesis, random generated levels always keeps this game fun)
Road Rash 1 and 2 (Not a fan of racing games, but i loved this, fights on bikes)
Earthworm Jim 1 and 2 (excellent platformers with great music, enemies, backgrounds and levels)
Sonic Series (get them all if you can)
Wonderboy in Moster world (a must, RPG/platformer)
Desert Strike (Destroy things with an apache, you can also look out for jungle and urban strike)
James Pond 2 (excellent platformer, one of my personal favorite games on Gen)
Micro Machines (mini racing, good fun, can also play with 4 players)
The Haunting (you play as a ghost trying to scare away a family from there homes, use the environment to create ghastly images to scare each family member away, there's 400 interactive objects)
Shinobi series (kick ass with a ninja)
Splatterhouse 2 (the most gory genesis game I can think of, but a damn good game to)
Ecco 1 and 2 (fight creatures of the deep, great but as hard as hell)
Street fighter 2 (probably the best fighter on Genesis, you can also look out for Mortal Kombat 2)
Zombies ate my neighbor (another excellent co-op game, tons of levels spoofing off horror films)
Comix Zone (very unique)
Moonwalker (ummmm??, how this get in here?)
