Aside from Xenogears, I was wondering if there were any good RPGs with Mechs that you use. I've heard of the Xenosaga, but, I've also read that you rarely use the mecha in that game. I want something where they are more of use. \ I've also tried Vanguard Bandits and...it was horrible.

You could try the Front Mission games. They have a more... tactical RPG approach and are kind of retro-style, but it might suit you. Go check it out. Also there's the Armored Core series, but they don't often get good critical reception, and they're more of an actiony mission-style game rather than an RPG. I haven't gotten into either but I've heard of them and thought they might match what you'd like.

The Sakura Wars series, though the only one that's available in English is Sakura Wars V: So Long, My Love. The Sakura Wars games were created by the Sega team that later did Valkyria Chronicles, thus the Sakura Wars games feature a somewhat similar real-time tactical RPG combat system, but with mechs instead of foot soldiers

However, that's only half the game, as the other half is basically a visual-novel adventure game with non-linear dating sim elements, much like what Persona 3 later did, though Sakura Wars is more light-hearted than the Persona games. Nevertheless, one of Sakura Wars' most unique features is its real-time conversation system, where unlike most other RPGs where the NPCs always wait for you to make dialogue choices, in Sakura Wars the NPCs don't wait and will cut you off if you don't make a choice quick enough, making the dialogue flow feel more natural than most other RPGs.

The Front Mission series as mentioned earlier would probably fit the bill for you.

Yeah, like everyone mentioned, the Front Mission games for the PS2 are excellent SRPGs with Mechs.
