Hey guys:) First time post here.

My friends are looking for good recommendations for an MMO/MMORPG similar to TERA that is free to play or download, and they used to love wow and Perfect World. Gamespot, what do you think?

It would be good to get into RuneScape 3 now that it's finished changing and you can immerse yourself in the new game without having nostalgic ties to the old game holding you back.

If you want to try new mobile game, Forsaken World mobile is a good choice. Release later this month. Never played mobile mmo before but I think it's good to put computer aside and play games in the living room or lying on couch.

Elder Scrolls Online has by far the best production value for an mmo, and its now buy to play, which means no monthly fees.It features a beautiful world and almost complete freedom in how you choose to build your character and play. If you haven't checked it out recently, you really should.

Rift is another tab targeting MMO like WoW that has a cool class system with the ability to pick multiple trees to use in your class build, so 1 class can have as much variance as some mmos have in their classes.

If you want to something new on mobile device, check out Forsaken World Mobile which will come out in mid-June or Dragon Nest Labyrinth which will come out summer. I am waiting for Forsaken World mobile currently.

If you like action oriented games there is the standard zone-to-zone progression game Tera, or if you want to try out an instanced MMO Phantasy Star Online 2 is a great game with a decent english player base that has built an english translation patch to understand enough to play comfortably.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is extremely fun. I've been playing for two months now and the story is really good, and the new patch is coming soon

Although it's not free to play, Guild Wars 2 has been going on sale for $10 regularly since there's an expansion coming out soon. And all you need is $10 and the game is yours to play.

It's really great on the PvP and exploration side of things. The community is very active and pretty excellent.

the game kinda annoys you into paying the sub. It limits the gear and character slots while also delaying xp gain and skill acquisition. On the upside, five bucks from every sub payment gets converted to the game store currency allowing you to to nab some nice stuff.

You get 5 pvp arena's, and raids can be bought with a pass. But you can level up to max lvl and you can use in game credits for everything. I sub, so it's easier and i think it's worth it

I really couldn't recommend a F2P MMO since most em are pretty "meh". I can recommend you my personal top 3 MMO's though (not in order)

*ESO- yeah it had a rough start but with the "re release" it's gotten a lot better. Personally the pve and pvp I'd say they're pretty decent, not the best and not the worst in those categories.

*FF14 ARR- probably the best MMO out currently if you want pve content, however if you want pvp content ARR's pvp content is probably the worst out there in the market

*Swtor- while the F2P version isn't worth it, the sub version is pretty amazing since it gives you all the bells and whistles. As a pvper I have to give Swtor the crown for the top pvp content, I know some people bash the pvp in that game but honestly it's a whole lot better than WoW's, Wildstars, Guild Wars 2 and FF14 ARR pvp.
