I know about the PS3 title has is being made by the Shenmue creators but is there any other info or rumors that could lead to a potentiol Shenmue 3? I am sure i am not the only person who wishes to kill Lan Di?

lol , i didnt play shenmue 2 but i finished shenmue 1 on my dreamcast for about 3 times and why lan di isnt dead yet on shenmue 2? that will suck and sega need to move and make shenmue 3 for xbox360.

Too bad you only played the first game, because the second is really much better. The "ending" was kinda anti-climatic though, at least to me.
There will never be a Shenmue 3, at least not in the form of a video game. Sorry to be the downer, but that's the truth. No publisher in their right mind would spend millions on a game that wasnt profitable in its prime, let alone a decade after its previous installment.
I will have to check out this games. I never considered to buy them. They scored very low on gamespot. I wonder if it was another surrealistic review.
Actually, Shenmue II for the Dreamcast scored 8.7 here on GS. Although I agree that the first game wasn't really as good as some say; it was repetitive and there wasn't a whole lot to do in it. Most of it they fixed for the second game. Anyone who has played the first game should probably play the second too. But if you never played any of the games you might be disappointed if you play them now, because they are older now and not as impressive graphically or otherwise, and because there's no real ending to the series. If you would still decide to play the games, you're better off if you never cared for Shenmue hype back then. Neither of the games were perfect, but they certainly had their qualities and their appeal. At least to me. But I cannot help thinking about how much better they could have been. The second game took the series in the right direction, IMO, but the ending was anti-climatic to me, and it is annoying that the third and final game never came.

Played the first 2 myself great games imo some of my all time favorites. I would hope they make a 3rd eventully it would suck to leave us hanging. I still want to kick lan di's as$ after being so close in 2 then he ran away like a pansy :P

Shenmue III would be nice but I seriously doubt it will ever happen. Perhaps in a graphic novel... I think that would be cool but I highly doubt they will release it in video game form. I really hope I am wrong though.
anywhooo, like that guy a little higher up said.... Shenmue costed way too much and brought in little to no profit. The only way i really see this trilogy being finished is if some aspiring game designer can aquire the rights and feels like sticking his/her neck out ....
The latest rumor, and I really men rumor is that Shenmue 1+2 Plus and Shenmue 3 will be announced at TGS all for the Xbox 360. And since I have a really low post number and don't want to be laughed at this is the source: :)
I'm gonna say that those rumors are bunk, and that unfortunately, we'll never see a Shenmue 3. Those games cost a crapload to make, and didn't sell well. Sammy owns Sega, and they want to start making money.
I've pretty much given up any hope that a third game would come out. I was really hoping a few years back, but after all this time, I doubt anything is going to happen.
Shenmue 3 is appearantly finished (storyline wise). Shenmue 3 is supposed to include Shenmue 1 and 2 and it is seperated into different chapters. I think there is 14 of them.
