its the only genre of videogame i find myself saying "gotta wait til sundown" and playing occurdingly
even tho i have my windows covered for that specific reason, it still lets in light, which kills the mood
anyone else feel similar?

I try to but people in my house always wanna watch tv at night. I agree that they should be played then.
Yea, I remember back in high school, staying up all night playing Re: 3 on Dreamcast. Sometimes I couldn't get myself to go to school in the morning, still playing and all.
Me. I normally play RPG's in the morning and horros or action adventure games at night. Playing Darksiders at moment, which isn't really horror. It seems like it's trying too hard to be awesome.
Holy crap, I remember doing this with the first two Resident Evil games. Get a group together and play it. The beauty of the "clunky" controls is that it didn't really matter who was holding the controller--in fact, one of the people in the group didn't ever want to hold it, and would only help with the puzzles if enough people were in the room.
Lol me and three friends were playing project zero/fatal frame 2 over my mates house and i've never heard four grown men scream so much. By the end we were throwing the pad back and forth trying to get someone to play it.....God i should really grow a pair!Rammstein_1986Haha good times, a video of that would do well on youtube. I also like to wait 'till sundown to play the creepy games, dark room, loud speakers, it's perfect. Also other games work well at night too, mainly adventure games, makes me feel like I'm at the movies.

Yup I do that too, I refuse to play horror games during the day. It's gotta be at night, all the lights out, and preferably when I'm home alone.
i pplay horror games at night. but sometimes i have to play them in day because i couldnt finish them in night.
Yes! I think this must be the best way to play.and especially during stormy weather with the lights off:wink:

Playing horror games at night should be mandatory!! It's also alot scarier when your home alone in the dark with 3 cats who are hyper.
Cats are creepy... :OPlaying horror games at night should be mandatory!! It's also alot scarier when your home alone in the dark with 3 cats who are hyper.

[QUOTE="iowastate"]Yes! I think this must be the best way to play. must have something to drink handy also: If there is not a container of warm blood available I will settle for lime coke or some tea.and especially during stormy weather with the lights off:wink:

I try to, it does make a huge difference playing in the dark when it's quiet. If I play horror games in the daylight I usually have noise from other people and the only scare I get is straight up ones like something jumping out at you.
I can't play them at all i'm an absolute wimp. I once played the GCube remake of resi, jumped and instinctively hit the off button...I hadn't saved in a while :-( Rammstein_1986Ha! I'm sorta in the same boat. I don't scare too easily but I do get that ugly sick feeling which makes it hard to sleep (or do much of anything) after playing. I get the same thing with twisted movies. Hard to describe. I made it through FEAR, System Shock 2 and a couple of the Resident Evils. Didn't make it through DOOM 3. Kinda sucks that most Sci-Fi fits into the horror genre. (I really liked Event Horizon, but I won't let myself watch it again.) I pretty much avoid the horror/terror genre in games unless its a real smash hit. I've been playing the latest Resident Evil 5... Is it me or is this RE not scary at all?
Of course! haha In fact I play all my games at night, regardless of genre now that I think about it!? =0
