Anyone Concerned About What Will Happen Next Gen

Is anyone concerned about how next gen will turn out or do you think there will be some growing pains but in the end it will exceed this generation. I for one don't really have a postive outlook with all this gloom and doom talk coming out every other day. I just want to continue enjoying gaming as a hobby and not have it go down tht tubes.

There is not enough information to have any reasonable concerns as of yet.

Some seem to have such a high stander that anything made is bad and done wrong. For those people they would be worry over tiny things.

We will literally sit in a chair controlling a blob with our minds that runs across the screen. The only reason we will play these games is because everytime you touch a wall, a small dose of joy is pumped straight into our veins. This is literally what every person will do all day.

I'm more concerned with customer service, backwards compatibility, and used sales. If this generation has taught me anything, it's that companies want to and will try their damn hardest to make everything an inconvenience and capitalize on the consumer as much as they can.

I can't stand the Wii or any of Nentendos forays into the modern age of gaming. That said, I hope that the next-gen isn't anything like the Wii right off the bat. I can't stand that piece of trash its so flawed imo. And another thing thats upsetting is that all these online games are now switching over to pay-to-play and online passes. Like.....really when did you need to pay to play it online especially a console game? All these companies care about now is making their quick buck any way they can. Just look at Epic Games. I spit at them. Dedicated servor promises, half-assed sequals, poor DLC.....its horrid what the industries become.

I'm not concerned with next gen yet because:

1.) There's a whole plethora of psp, ds, and ps3 games I still want to play.

2.) It seems a little early to be worrying about the next gen consoles that have not come out yet. Sony and Microsoft have divulged very little info on the ps4 and nextbox. And the info floating around now is mostly speculation.

I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet.

Games becoming movies, there has been a boom in story driven 'games', but this has been a bad thing for gaming because there has been a decline in pure fun games and the pure fun games that exist today are underrated. I'm all for story driven games but only when they are done right, and the most popular story driven 'games' are done horribly wroing.

I'm very much looking forward to next gen.

The worst case scenario is that development costs on the next gen are so high that games reach the $70 pricepoint, while at the same time all the tech gives you is the existing games + higher resolution.
