Remember the good old days, being a doofy kid, teen, w/e playing gba and watching cartoons. Now all these games are getting so next-gen and hd and stuff. Not that that's bad, but I still miss the fun I had with my gba, it's a shame they stopped making games for it. Well that's life, time to move on eh? Anyone have a personal favorite system from a few years back?

Every once in a while, I yearn for my Gameboy Pocket. It was my best friend as a kid.

I can do without N64 and Playstation. They were fun and I spent plenty of time playing them, but they don't make me feel nostalgic. I'm actually not sure why, I was playing them around the same time as the Gameboy Pocket.

I agree that the 90's was the best era for gaming but when it comes to system wars I may have to disagree with you. We had the SNES and Sega Genesis/Megadrive consoles wars so this had always been like this though the Nintendo vs Sega war was actually great and much better then this current system wars that we have now.

Fair enough. The SNES and Genesis war was awesome while the PS3 vs Xbox 360 war for example sucks.

Ya I have had a GBA since I was 14 (give or take). That was 10 (give or take) years ago and the very same one is still truckin on. I must have played a total of 10,000 hours on that thing, no joke. Replaying Golden sun 1 about 30 times, breath of fire 1 about 90 times haha. I can't believe that same GBA is still working to this day.

Another system is my ps2. Ive had the same big black one forever and it's still running like a champ. Many countless hours on that system too.

I miss my good ol NES. Those games were great. Usually quite challenging as well. The big change is simply based on money. Gaming is so huge now there's tons of money to be made and that changes the landscape dramatically.

N64 was my favourite and still is and I realy miss playing Orcarina of Time, Starfox 64 and Mario 64. I doubt I've hadmore fun than playing that console.

Nintendo aren't what they used be shame really.

Let's not forget how affordable the older systems were as well, my gba sp was only 86 dollars, now the 3ds and all that good stuff is in excess of 200 (now it's 180 i believe).

That's not valid, since income has also increased.

lol sometimes I go back and play my PS1 games on my PS3 slim (it is BC with PS1, not PS2). And I still play my PS2 from time to time aswell, I try to play my N64 but my god! That controller is SO bad and outdated that I'm surpised I could even put up with it back then! Still it works and has great games, but the N64 controller is a nightmare...

I also play mySega Genises,Snes and NES on occasion. It's kind of funny though, that how all my old systems including those that are well over 10 or 20 years old still work but my 360 can't after a few years! What the hell? Seriously....

Oh yes, all the time. The best time to be a gamer was during the 90s. I remember getting my Sega Genesis back in 1992 and loving it to death, that was until I got my N64 in 1996. Some of my favorite memories were playing Super Mario 64, Pilot Wings 64, Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, Cruise'n USA, and Zelda OoT on that things and having a total blast! I also fondly remembering getting my Sega Dreamcast back in 1999 and being totally blown away by games like Sonic Adventure. And of course there was the Pokemon pandemonium of the late 90s that I proudly was swept up in. Ahh yes, those were wonderful times :). It's no wonder that 90% of games I buy are from gens prior to this one; way better games, way better consoles, way better memories.

No, not really. I used to, but after realizing how far games have come in the past decade (like Driver: SF) I tend to lose that nostalgia.

Yes... I want games to be like they were when I was younger. I miss that so much... I can't really play any of my older systems now either, don't have a working tv (so I can't play anything acutally, lol).

Yeah, it's pretty stupid, considering both have practically all of the same games, the same graphics. The two give different things, but most of it is just rabid, pointless fanboyism.

I have old consoles and handhelds like the nes, snes, gamecube, genesis, commodore 64 , ps2, gameboy color, gameboy advance, sega game gear, gameboy original, and n64.

Sadly nes, commodor 64, ps2, genesis, and my n64 no longer work :(

I also lost a bunch of games for all those consoles and handhelds, I have no idea where they are x_x

My favorite handheld game is Tetris. I used to play that all the time, now I can't find it lol

I do miss playing old games like mario brothers series from the nes. But I know on the Wii you can download some of them from the store, but it's just not the same as playing it on the nes ya know.

My gameboys all still work and my snes still work so that's good. Sad thing is, my controllers for the snes are wonky, and are having trouble working x_x

Perhaps I should hook up my gamecube and play some of thier games, been so long ya know. I turned into a pc gamer and left all my old and new consoles just sitting thier aging. Feel kind of bad now after reading this thread x_x

Absolutely. I still play old games all the time, the last generation (PS2, XBOX, GBA, GC, Etc) was the best in my opinion. The games for those systems are so well-made, and in such high quantity that I really believe they could have, and should have extended the last console generation for a few more years.

Not as much just the gameboy (color and advanced) as much as I just miss the older pokemon games up until the 4th gen. Before that when I played them they were always so amazing to me.
