I do. 2009 was full of great action adventure titles, and this year there is not to many. Shooters were more plentiful in 2009. I do think that 2010 has better JRPG's, but IMO they don't equate to action adventure titles.

Considering 2010 is now only one month old, I really fail to see how you can make the judgment.

I guess, you're kinda right. But seeing how It's gonna be, 2009 is probably going to be better

As far as I know, this year's games are really different from the common 'oh, shooter, oh, fighting game' years we have been having. This year has more beat-em-ups and Strategy games, something we really haven't had. and if I am right, there was not that many JRPGs last year, so that on top of Mass effect 2 and Bioshock 2 (very odd shooter), this year looks to have some variety. Just look at Bayonetta; thats the first sign of the new year.

I don't know TC, this year has some great games coming. Red Dead Redemption, Mafia II, Diablo III (rumored to be out in '11 but I've yet to see a link confirming this), Heavy Rain, hopefully the new Batman: AA, Super Mario Galaxy 2, GOW 3, Splinter Cell, and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Bump this on the new year and I'll let you know.

No, the first quarter of 2010 alone competes with 2009. Although many were delayed from 2009 in the first place. This year looks better for Action, RPG, shooters although worse for fighters.

I'm just thinking about, and many people are already making claims that 2010 is the best gaming year.

The abundance of Action Adventure games last year was awesome. And this year can't compare with 3d dot game heroes, last guardian, darksiders, bayonetta and God of War 3.

Like others have said, give 2010 more of a shot, were only past the first month. Personally I have played Mass Effect 2 so far which beats anything I played in 2009 hands down.

2009 is better than 2010, because 2010 isn't finished yet :| Wait till December and then come talk about comparing 'em.

2010 > 2009 for the games that I like. All that really interested me last year was RE5, Shadow Complex and Dragon Age. 2010 has already had Bayonetta and Mass Effect 2. Final Fantasy 13, Heavy Rain, RE5 DLC, Dragon Age DLC, the possibility of a good Sonic game and Alpha Protocol are still on the way.

I hate the notion of better or worse and personally focus on "different." Regardless, this year is only a month old and we've already had Bayonetta, Darksiders, Army of Two: 40th Day, no more Heroes 2, Tat. Vs. Capcom, and ME2. Next week we are getting Bioshock 2 so honestly, I'm pretty damn happy.

Seeing as only a month has passed of this year, it's impossible to say of how the years compare. I still feel this year will be better, at least for me. Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy XIII, Bioshock 2, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Dead Space 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Dragon Quest VI, Dragon Quest IX, God of War 3, Aliens vs Predators, Bayonetta, Dante's Inferno, Metroid: Other M, No More Heroes 2, Tatsunoku vs Capcom, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Ace Attorney: Investigations and more. For some reason, I had almost no game to look forward to at the start of 2009, so I'm very optimistic on 2010.

No I don't think so. Sure 2009 was an excellent year with Street Fighter IV, Blazblue, Resident Evil 5, Halo 3: ODST, Assassin's Creed 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, etc. but I'm hard pressed not to believe 2010 will at the very least equal it when we're only a month in and already have Bayonetta, Mass Effect 2, Darksiders, and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. There's a ton of awesome games like Super Street Fighter IV, Final Fantasy XIII, Alan Wake, Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2, Dante's Inferno, Halo Reach, a bunch of dlc for some of last year's games, etc. slated for release this year. I think 2010 will do extremely well.

2009 from a personal stand point sucked, as for games it also sucked. More shooters is a bad thing markets over saturated. As for 2010 theres at least 1 game being released each month thats got my intrest. In 2009 it was Uncharted 2, MW2, RE5 besides these nothing I was willing to pay 60 bucks for (L4D2 was cool but not for $60) and MW2 was a mistake and RE5 was garbage...

No. Halo:Reach, Fable3, GT5(hopefully), Dante's Inferno, God of War3, New Zelda and other good reasons.

Those games are incredible, yes, but did I look forward to them before their release? Nope, not personally. Those were all games that took me more by surprise than actually awoke my interest as a concept. Except for Demon's Souls, maybe, which always looked intriguing. I feel there are bigger games coming out this year, but as I say, that's just me.
