I was gonna post this in SW, but it would have turned into a fanboyfest, and I hope that there will be a more mature discussion here...

Well, yeah, KZ2 looks great...but the gameplay to me looks very much like the first: dull, cliched, clunky. I was one of the people who was suckered into the hype of the first Killzone, and was left very disappointed. I can't help but think this is gonna happen with KZ2 again...

Just like the song "How to Kill a Brand": "Say Halo 3 - don't worry - instead you offer Killzone 2. But Killzone 1, sucked before, so what makes you think we wanted more?"

All I know is that I am sick and tired of hearing about it (not from you guys, but from the press). I do not need to know or see anything else about this title until it is released and there is a review. Enough already.

Someone should post another discussion thread about the media's ability to preview a game to death.

I dont see why people should be hyped for this game. Considering the first game was very mediocre, all this game has going for it so far is graphics. Even now they look like any other post apocolyptic setting only with shiney effects.

I'm hoping to get Killzone 2 soon but I do agree, it isn't "All That" like they are making it out to be. To me, it really IS just like the first one. Gotta give it a chance though, right?

I really liked the online play of the first one. It wasn't amazing, but definately enjoyable. I mean, does it look boring? No it looks absolutely intense and amazing! Will it be boring we shall find out.

I never played the first Killzone. And was excited about Killzone 2. But after seeing all kinds of video's and everything about it.... I gotta say I also think it looks boring. It looks like a boring copy of CoD. It has nothing that sets it apart from the Billion other shooters. When I first saw Killzone 1 I thought all the gas mask glowy eye stuff was cool. I guess I'm thankful I never played the original. I've seen a trailer for Killzone 2 and it showed a multiplayer fight and everyone was using voice communication (Like it was supposed to be exciting and cool). Is that supposed to be a selling point!? People have been playing with voice communication since Halo 2! Voice communication is in every online game now! But hey I still like all the glowy spooky gas mask-likeness. And the graphics are good. But I'll still most likely pass this game up.

KZ1 was sewage, though anyone surprised by that fact wasn't paying attention, since Nam 67 (which hit a few months before) was sewage.  However, Guerilla has improved a lot since KZ, as Killzone Liberation (a top down shooter on the PSP) demonstrates.   I am optimistic about KZ2 based on Liberation, the talk of the beta testers and the reviews, though I admit I haven't played it myself.

However, if you want to skip KZ2, its a free country, and its not like the world suffers from a shortage of quality shooters.
