Is it just me or does Atari have a bad habit of releasing unfinished PC games to retail? I won't be surprised if The Witcher comes with a lot of bugs. What if an entire content(s) gets axed?

Expect at least two large patches before the game becomes playable. Even then the game will still have quirks. At least it won't crash or lock-up constantly.

Any thoughts?

Not at all. Just the North American rating standards and the unnecessary censoring of certain scenes.

I don't like having to order from overseas (from GAME if any are interested), but this really isn't a case of censorship, but of corporate cowtowing. They could release AO versions for download or even standard e-tailing, and that's why it isn't censorship.

There's a broken releationship between the ESRB, publishers, console manufacturers, and retailers. The whole thing needs to be revamped; a rating system has its place, just not in the current form.

From the gameplay footage I've seen, the game plays smoother than any BioWare or Obsidian PC RPG. The Witcher has been a long time in the making and it seems to be very polished. It's coming out on Friday over here, so I guess we'll know soon enough.

i just really really hope the devs pull it off....thats my big worry. it sounds great and some previews have been solid (though not spectacualr) so i really hope it turns out well. we will know soon enough. in fairness to atari though, they have given the devs a load of time to finish this project (4 years i think). if the game does tank then the blame should be placed squarely at the devs feet. hopefully its a great success though, critically and commercially.
