I was going through my Action Replay disc for the Playstation One and was going through every game on the disc that has cheat codes and I cant believe I missed out on most of the games except for Final Fantasy, Parasite Eve, Resident Evil and Spider-Man.

These games that I am going to list did any of you buy, play or rent?

Alundra 1 and 2

Granstream Saga

Grandia

Elemental Gearbolt

Spec Ops

Akuji

Colin McRae racing

Ridge Racer 4

Vigilante 8

the original Soul Calibur game aka Soul Blade

also what's the name of that fighting game where you turn into animals?

I played vigilantie 8 before. Its the car combat game right? And for your fighting game question I think your thinking of Bloody Roar. At least that is the closest thing I can think of.

I've played Vigilante 8 and Soul Blade before. Soul Blade is cool. It might be dated by now, but back then it was cool. I also played Vigilante 8 a bit but something tells me I wouldn't enjoy it now...I would skip it and just try out Soul Blade. Otherwise, I haven't played any others.

By the way, Bloody Roar is the title to that fighting game where you morph to animals. It was kinda cool, especially the GameCube version. But honestly, the game gets kinda repetitive after a while. Buy at your own risk.

There was a Bloody Roar game for the Gamecube? Holy crap LOL.

Yeah the Bloody Roar game I remember seeing a live action trailer commercial for it on tv back then. Most of those Playstation games commercials were done live action style.

also me personally I always thought Vigilante 8 and Demolition Derby were just trying to copy each other and copy Twisted Metal.

Vigilante 8 was the one with the school bus or was that Demolition Derby?

Out of those, I have played the first Alunda (although never really got anywhere on it, as it got really hard, and it's not usually my sort of game), Colin McRae Racing I used to have as well (I think I played quite a few of them? can't remember), maybe Ridge Racer (although I do still have Ridge Racer Revolution) and Vigilante 8 :D. I wouldn't mind playing Alundra again actually, even regardless of the fact that it is the style of games that I don't really have an interest in. Probably it's a mix of nostalgia and time spent with it that makes me appreciate it, it was a pretty fun and bizarre game from what I could actually play of it! and the Racing/Car Combat games are bound to still be fun :). I want Vigilante 8 again, actually. I might re-buy it on XBLA first though.

Grandia is one of the best RPG's of that gen (and that is saying something). Be warned though, the first couple hours are very slow and uninteresting. But it picks up steam and improves dramatically

How is the Colin McRae racing games for the Playstation One by the way? Is the Colin McRae racing game pretty much the same like Gran Turismo or the Nascar Thunder games?

I'd skip the PS1 Colin McRae Rally games, they were much better on PC. Ridge Racer Type 4 is a brilliant game, and really inexpensive nowadays. It has the best graphics of any PS1 I've ever played. It looks quite a bit nicer than Gran Turismo 2 in my opinion. I still think it's the best ridge Racer game ever made, certainly more engrossing gameplay wise than any of the newer RR games.

Ive played a few of those

Alundra - didn't like it, but then Im not a big fan of any Zelda-like games

Grandia - brilliant game , one of my favourite RPGs.

Ridge Racer 4 - really good arcade racer.

Soul Blade - mediocre, looks great, but overall mediocre gameplay, not bad though.

Grandia truly is a great game, but a lot of people don't know anything about it. I think it can stand toe to toe with just about any RPG released during its time.

I liked the Suikoden series best in that era. But other than those, it is one of the best. ...right behind FF9 for me

I have and still play to this day the original Collin McRae Rally and Ridge Racer Type 4 games on my ps3, CM was a fantastic antidote to all the stupid arcadiness of sega rally whilst RR4 had some of the best graphics i'd ever seen the humble PS produce, particularly the level racing around the airport and you have planes landing, takign off and taxiing around the place it was awesome for its day.

You still play the Colin McRae racing game for the Playstation? That's pretty cool.

Is it any different than the other gazillion racing games like Ridge Racer or Grand Turismo?

Alundra 1 and 2 - Rubbish.

Granstream Saga - Rubbish.

Grandia - Less-so Rubbish.

Elemental Gearbolt - Ribbidy-Rubbish.

Spec Ops - COMPLETE, utter, unconditional Rubbish.

Akuji - No Opinion

Colin McRae racing - Codemasters, not quite Rubbish but far from the acme of the series.

Ridge Racer 4 - Tripe.

Vigilante 8 - Mmmmmm... Yeah, Rubbish. Had to think that one over, though. But in the end, it's basically Rubbish.

the original Soul Calibur game aka Soul Blade - GOOD GAME.

also what's the name of that fighting game where you turn into animals?

"Altered Beast" - Bleh. Rubb- ... Oh, you get the picture. It really hasn't aged well.

slamminjammin69

The above are my OPINIONS, not FACT. So please, if anyone gets to feeling butt-hurt over the above post, I apologize in advance.

Soul Blade remains one of my favorite games for the Ps1.

I liked Colin McRae ten years ago. I haven't played it since.

Ridge Racer Type 4 is a really good racer (still today).

Spec Ops had a whole Series going, ranger elite, stealth patrol, airborn rangers etc. - Not very good in my opinion, borderline to bad. I have stealth patrol.

I played and enjoyed Alundra a couple of years ago, but never finished it.

I have only Grandia and Soul Blade aka original Soul Edge, not Soul Calibur. Soul Blade- it was good. Grandia- I didn't play it yet as it reminded as unopened.
