I too agree with this statement. Don't get me wrong, the oldies are fun to play. But I'd rather play what I actually have and own.

Yeah, I still use my Gamecube (very much so when it comes to Resident Evil) I probably play my Playstation 2 more than my Xbox 360.

I still play older games frequently, as well as new games. I don't play one much more then the other.

I will aLways keep my GameCube for two games, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, I have never played better games in my life on any other console, to me these games are the pinnical of gaming enjoyment and challenge.

I still play my Gamecube semi regularly. I also have two GBA games to finish (Final Fantasy VI and Riviera the Promised Land for those keeping score). I wouldn't say I rpefer gaming on older systems but I play them alot more than other people do. However I also like the current gen systems.

I play my GameCube games on my Wii and my PS2 games on my PS3... I just like playing my older games. Wii allows for GameCube controllers and PS2 has an adapter for PS2 controllers but rumble is disabled, but other than that it works great. I like using the PS3 because of the memory card feature to virtually create them.

I loved my PS2 and there are plenty of great games I'd still like to play on it. But it's basically used as a DVD player now. Too many really good current gen games out; I just don't have the time.

I play a lot of old games mainly because I find a lot of the games that are out today to be kind of boring, but I still play new games.

Agreed. There were so many excellent games that appeared up until that time.

As for me, I play the FC Twin (SNES clone) every now and then with the few games that I have and they are just as fun to play today as they were in the past.

No, I prefer playing on my current gen systems. I don't mind going back and playing an older game every now and then but with so many great new games coming out these days that I really want to play I really don't have the time to play the older games.

I don't mind playing on my PS2, but you need the proper tv to do so. HDTV's distort the image of previous generation console games.

This. If I had a NICE SDTV lying around, I would love to start up my PS2 again and catch up on games I've missed. As of right now, it's out of my realm of possibility. I have enough with my huge backlog this gen. :P Besides, I'd rather move forward and play new games instead of go backwards. Not that it's a bad thing. That's what HD collection releases are for. :) To give you some of that nostalgia in small doses while still not forgetting about them. There are just too many great new games coming up, apparently. :)

The only console I would take over my PS3 would be the Nintendo 64. Oh how I miss that system. It easily had the BEST games of any platform in history.

Snowboard Kids 1 and 2
Turok 1,2,3
Cruise'n USA, Cruise'n The World
007 Goldeneye 64
007 The World Is Not Enough
San Francisco Rush 1 and 2
Diddy Kong Racing
Super Smash Bros
Mario Kart 64
Rainbow Six
Mortal Kombat 4
Killer Instincts
Donkey Kong 64
Mario Party 2 and 3
Super Mario 64
Yoshi's Story
Resident Evil 2
Spider-Man 64
Knockout Kings 2000
Star Wars Episode 1 PodRacer
BomberMan 64
Legend Of Zelda Majora's Mask, Ocarina Of Time
Banjo Kazooie
Perfect Dark
Wave Race 64
South Park
Doom 64
WWF Warzone, WWF Attitude
WWF WrestleMania 2000, WWF No Mercy
WCW Mayhem
WCW Backstage Assault
WCW Vs NWO World Tour, WCW Vs NWO Revenge
Mission Impossible
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 and 2
Star Wars Shadow Of The Empire
NBA Hangtime
Fighting Force 64
Duke Nukem 64

BEST console ever. I listed a ton of amazing games and I still managed to miss a ton of them. I never had so much fun on a single console in my lifetime.

I recently bought about 6 games I never got to play for the Gamecube and have been playing them. No games that have come out since Red Dead Redemption have made me want to buy them for my 360. I will be getting Arkham City though

I would add Fighter's Destiny 1 to that list. It was a really overlooked game.

I play a ton of GBA, SNES, NES, and Sega Genesis/32X/CD games. But I wouldn't say I prefer them to current gen, no. I'd love to play more of my PS2, but I lack a good SDTV to actually play it on.

It's not a preference for one gen or another, but I've been playing my PS2 nearly everyday lately (DQ VIII).

I also still buy and play PS1, PS2, XBOX, Gamecube, GB, GBC, DS, PSP and GBA games on a regular basis.

I still have a SNES and Gamecube, but those are mainly played by my mom these days. My PC serves as gamign access to any generation, because of nearly infinite backwards compatability

yes, I prefer it for some things, for instance they have those Mario sports game that are better on the GC than the Wii, like the Baseball, Strikers, Toadstool Tour, Tennis, etc, they didn't make all them for the Wii since I think it would be more obvious that the Wii is just a rerun of the GameCube... anyhow, by mandating motion controls in those games I found many people didn't like them, so I just got the GameCube ones instead, and they're great

I gave my gamecube away. It had a portable lcd screen attached too. My original xbox is collecting dust and if I play it's on my PS3 or DSi.
