I'm pretty sure they didn't use any animation for the "classic" Night Trap: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Trap starring everyone's favorite Dana Plato.

No i dont mean in the storytelling sequences, but in the entire game... Dragon's Lairuses it more to push the story forward, right?? And do you know what kind of interactivity did phantasmagoria offer??

I took a look at the screenshots, but it seems that a lot of interactivity was via the menu at the bottom, not with the images themselves, right? (eg performing an action on the image, like we do in regular games)

Not so sad though! Not just things where the player is asked questions... but they actually interact with the image (eg shoot a real person kind of thing)
Did you watch the whole video? Because the second game they play is exactly what you've described.let me take a look again..
