I've always preferred the Donkey Kong Country series. It just didn't work well in 3D, imo.

So much! I really hope they make a new DK game for the Wii or something. I think it would work really well with the Wiimote because you could use it to swing around and such. But, at least BK3 is supposidly on the horizon for the 360.

This game was awesome! I really wish they'd remake it for the DS or at least make a new version of it.

Yeah I loved Donkey Kong 64. I loved the different characters and the fact that you had to use a certain one or a combination of them to progress. I don't think I ever completed it unfortunately, soon after I bought it I got my Ps2 and then my n64 got sold. Something I regret!

I still have my copy of this game. I have been waiting for a sequel forever, but all that Nintendo seems to put out are the jungle beat games.

It was an awesome game back then and I remember renting it a few times to finish the game. I don't remember too much about it though.

I got fed up with it pretty early into the game. There was way too much collecting to be done.

the game was far too repetitive for my tastes. in every level it was basically the same thing, press a switch, go get a bananna, switch character, jump in a barrel, do some easy fighting, get a bananna, same thing every level and it was far too easy for even a 9 year old. and the puzzles in the game are just pathetic, i understand that the game tried to appeal to everyone, but come on i thought this was a total bust.

Completely agreed. I don't want to stomp on anyone's nostalgia too much, but I personally didn't like Donkey Kong 64. It seems the majority of the time was spent running around collecting stuff, and, that's just about it.

Donkey Kong 64 was the reason why I stopped playing 3D platformers. I got all the way to the end of it but by then I was so fed up of having to collect so much junk in the game. Ever since then every game that requires me to collect trash is an instant fail in my opinion.

DK64 would have been great had they had more variety to it. Recently I have enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy which has you collecting stars but the difference is each star presents a new experience. DK64 was just too repetitive for its own good. There just seemed to be no end to it and the player never got a sense of accomplishment with it since there was always more junk to collect.

I loved the Donkey Kong Country series, but I didn't think Donkey Kong 64 was quite as good. It was a good platformer and all, but it had it's share of problems. The world was actually too big at times, I think. Plus the draw distance wasn't too hot (at least with smaller collectible items). Plus the game had the most amount of item collecting I've ever seen in like any game, with each character needing to get their own. It was a lot already, but see each character had their own version of items to get, it multiplied the total amount by five, for each one of the DK characters. Then let's not forget the God-forsaken DK Rap. But all in all, it was a good game, though I felt it wasn't quite up to Rare's usual quality. Banjo-Kazooie was much better, and in my opinion, is still the greatest 3D platformer to date.

The boss battles were amazing? until the very last boss it was throw 3 barrels, or go through a couple rings and then you beat him. the boss battles were pathetic.
